IamA injured firefighter who has been suffering from head injuries AMA!

Hi, I am Jason. Was a firefighter full time for about 5 years and worked hard to maintain my knowledge and skills so I could work with some of the best firefighters out there. In 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016 I had head and neck injuries, and unfortunately for me I forgot what had happened by the time it came to file workers comp. I struggled with severe head pain and neck pain, to the point where I would hide away in my room and take pain killers and smoke pot for days, weeks, months and years following the incidents. I forgot who I was, forgot my life, forgot that I was a firefighter. It was really scary, but I kept moving forward. I am sick each day, all day long. Even the ER docs can't help ease this sick feeling I feel in my head.

The pain is so severe, it made me want to end my life on multiple occasions, but in the last 2 years I have learned how to battle those thoughts, and win. But being in this situation is scary because I never thought I would be battling pain and sickness on this scale ever.

The pain isn't something you can just "get over" it consumes your life, it's like my whole reality is pain.

Amnesia has been difficult to deal with, as there are many things that have needed to be explained to me about my past. There was a time 6 months ago my cousin would walk me through events and memories we had been through together, as I couldn't recall any of them.

If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to asnwer! I hope you have a great weekend and don't forget to ask me anything!

Below is my website where you can watch a short video I have been working on, as I am preparing to make a film about my story. Also my music player is also on the website, you can listen to some of the movie scores I have written.

Feel free to send me a message too! https://imgur.com/a/oOcawfY www.JasonWaldram.com

I am Jon von Tetzchner, fighting Big Tech, & for a better web building Vivaldi browser. Ask me anything!

Hi Reddit, I'm Jon von Tetzchner. I am the co-founder and CEO of the Vivaldi, I also co-founded Opera browser and steered the company for almost 16 years. A few years ago, I saw the need and heard the screams for a better browser, so we started Vivaldi. We are all about our users and on the 27th Jan we are celebrating Vivaldi Day, the day Vivaldi was introduced to the world. I thought this would be a good time to stop by and chat about browsers, entrepreneurship, and anything else you'd like to know.

I’ll be answering your questions for the next hour (or so) so fire away!

EDIT: That's a wrap! Thanks for all the questions. You can always reach out on Vivaldi Social https://social.vivaldi.net/@jon.
