OrcaLab has always been funded by individuals and organizations who value our work. Hydrophones, cameras, solar panels, boats, food for assistants, buildings and supplies… the list of things needing our attention is long and varied.
We are fortunate to have dedicated donors and sponsors who keep us running and help OrcaLab to continue its efforts: we would love to welcome you to that community, too!

From time to time, we receive donations for specific projects or equipment which have enabled us to purchase much-needed equipment and infrastructure.
We very rarely do ‘funding drives’, and operate with a modest budget. Help always seems to come along exactly when it is needed. This is part of the ethos that has shaped OrcaLab over the past five decades, and we are so grateful to all who have supported us.
If you would like to donate equipment or fund a larger endeavour, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
In the past, OrcaLab has benefitted significantly from Legacy Gifts: donations from those who decide to bequeath a portion of their estate to us in their will. Many years ago, our first Legacy Gift came from the aunt of a supporter who willed us 5% of her estate. Her gift amounted to $15,000 and enabled us to start a ‘Future Fund’ dedicated to the longevity of OrcaLab. We are incredibly grateful for these larger donations, and the belief in the future of our work, that they represent.
Legacy Gifts can be written into a will as a fixed amount, or as a percentage of what’s left of your estate once your loved ones are cared for. They should use our legal name and charity registration number: Pacific Orca Society, 140415811 RR 0001.

We have partnered with EcoJoia to create a range of beautiful t-shirts and other apparel. The tees are 100% cotton and only phthalate-free, water-based inks are used for printing.
