NFL
Seriously, every post and comment I have seen seems to be shitting on the lad.
Not fast enough, not big enough, no experience, could make more in rugby...blah blah blah.
I even saw one comment saying his vertical jump won't be enough to play wide reciever...like people on Reddit actually know his fucking vertical jump FFS.
I hope he goes over there, smashes it, makes an absolute fortune and opens the door for dozens of others to do the same. All the luck in the world to him.
EDIT: Genuinely had no idea that the term British Isles was offensive in Ireland. Feel like a bit of a twat TBH.
College football is full of one-way rivalries that aren't necessarily reciprocated, but for the most part it doesn't seem to be a thing in the NFL. The only example I can think of is Lions/Seahawks - Lions fans absolutely hate the Seahawks but Seahawks fans tend to be favorable or neutral towards Detroit.
This stems largely from the result of an October 5, 2015, SNF game where the Seahawks won thanks largely to an illegal play that was uncalled - with 2 minutes to play Calvin Johnson nearly scored a go-ahead TD but fumbled the ball just short of the end zone, and KJ Wright intentionally batted the ball out of the end zone. This is not allowed and should have set up a Lions first and goal but instead the refs did not throw a flag and awarded Seattle the ball.
More so, Seattle had beaten Detroit 9 of the last 10 times they played, with Detroit's lone win since 1999 coming in a 28-24 effort in 2012. Most painfully Detroit lost a Wildcard game in Seattle 6-26 on January 7, 2017.
Finally, Detroit nearly made the playoffs last year but needed the Baker Mayfield-led Rams to knock Seattle out in order to stay alive. He almost did so - the Rams forced OT and missed a game-winning FG that would have set up a winner-takes-all scenario in Lambeau. But due to some bad luck and some officiating incompetence, Seattle prevailed and Detroit was eliminated .
All of this had led to Detroit having major animosity towards the Seahawks, while the Seahawks fanbase tends to harbor no strong feelings about Detroit.
Are there any other examples of exclusively 1-sided hatred in the NFL?

The Divisional Round is here, ! We had mostly blowouts, but not in the way many of us thought. I went a terrible 2-4 and I don't think many of you did much better. Predictions will become quite a bit harder, as every team playing has a legit chance of going all the way. The weekend is split down the middle, with the #1 seeds playing Saturday. Here we go!
Saturday, January 20th
Matchup | Time/Network | Winner | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
Texans @ Ravens | 4:30p ET on ESPN/ABC | Ravens | Confidence: Medium - The Texans are benefiting from well-schemed Niners-mirroring offense with lesser weapons. A similar thing is happening for Ryans as the rookie leader of the defense with Anderson Jr. leading the way. Houston won't get the big INTs to spark them for a second straight week. But Stroud can hang in there with help from the run. Jackson makes the big difference by being sharp passing all over the field and finding holes in the Texans zone and eluding pressure to boost a limited running game. |
Packers @ 49ers | 8:15p ET on FOX | 49ers | Confidence: High - The Pack played their guts out with big defensive plays against the Cowboys that padded their early strong offensive start with Love. The Niners' offense will have great success rushing with a rested CMC and between Aiyuk, Kittle and Samuel, they will stretch the Packers' defense thin vertically and horizontally with Purdy playing well off the run. Love won't get the same benefit from Jones as he did against the Cowboys. |
Sunday, January 21st
Matchup | Time/Network | Winner | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
Buccaneers @ Lions | 3:00p ET on NBC | Lions | Confidence: Medium - The Bucs couldn't get any offense going into the Week 6 matchup against the Lions at home, losing 20-6 in Week 8. They should be more game for the rematch with Baker red-hot after ripping the Eagles all over the field. The concern for Mayfield is Hutchinson and the Lions' pass rush, containing the big plays. Goff will feel a little more comfortable at home and also get more help from an efficient rushing attack. |
Chiefs@ Bills | 6:30p ET on CBS | Chiefs | Confidence: Low - The Chiefs faced a frigid game last week and came out with a dominant win against Miami. Likewise, the Bills also had a great showing in very snowy weather, eliminating the Steelers at home. Mahomes won't mess around and stay efficient by making the Bills stop both Rice and Kelce, while the Pacheco will wear down the pass rush. The Bills need to stick more with the run to Cook, but they could again get too confident with Allen in a tough matchup where he's bound to be pressured into the key giveaways Mahomes might not make. Playing in Buffalo kind of makes this my upset pick for the Chiefs. |
Those are my predictions, let's hear yours. Keep it civil and fun. Best of luck!

Hi, I'm from Bosnia🇧🇦(Europe), and I started watching NFL but I don't know what team should I support, help me. My post was removed from .
Because this consistently comes up in the comments as the OPPOSITE of what is true (or folks just arguing for the sake of it), I'd like to just head this weird line of reasoning off at the pass (ironic) and state, for the record:
Yes, the Bears are incompetent, but ONLY as it pertains to winning. They are exceedingly good at being profitable. Last year - which is like most years - they were Top 5:
:
1 - Cowboys (460)
2 - Pats (265)
3 - Giants (215)
4 - Falcons (207)
5 - Bears (190)
And I believe both the Falcons and the Cowboys have the added advantage of owning their own stadiums.
Yet, over the last 30 years (effectively since the McCaskey's took over), . We are 21st in total wins. In a league that had 4 expansion teams in those 30 years. So we're 21st of 28 who actually HAD 30 seasons. The other ones in the top 5 in profit? Yeah, they're ahead of us.
And for postseason wins? . We have . In 30 years. That's bottom 5. The other ones in the top 5 in profit? Do we even have to ask?
Falcons have double (8), Cowboys and Giants basically have triple (12, 11), and Pats (let's not laugh).
To recap, the Bears are:
Bottom 10 in total wins, bottom 5 in total playoff wins. Top 5 in profit.
Succeeding when it counts.
P.S. As an amusing aside, the Packers seemingly do the complete opposite of the Bears (Top 2 in total wins, Top 2 in total playoff wins, Bottom 2 in profit). We really are their inverse in every way.
P.P.S. If you take operating profit per playoff win, the Bears are amusingly like number 2-3.
