I finished my "zombie" requiem which will also be uploaded to bandcamp next week, here is a preview: . The piece is about loving a person, loosing them, mourning them and then they come back. Can you be the same people together again, and are the returned different people now once returned? My mother passed away to cancer in the beginning of 2020 and the preview piece is written to and dedicated to her. She was an incredibly kind and important person in my life, so the whole requiem means a lot. Will write on Twitter when the release is out!

It has been just over one week since Valheim released and the game has already reached over 340k players on steam. For reference, it took PUBG nearly 4 months to reach 340k on steam. It took CS:GO nearly 2 and a half years to reach this mark. This is by far the highest player count ever reached by any survival game on steam, let alone one made by an indie studio.
Also, I don't think I have ever seen a game reach the top 5 on steam and maintain 96% positive reviews. I honestly expected this figure to drop over time as more and more people try the game, but it has only gone up.

I've been thinking about jumping into the Valheim world as a solo player, but see a ton of gameplay and commentary that the real fun is with others (which I don't have time for).
Is Valheim fun/worth it if I never plan to play with others?

Almost every post I see in this community is a suggestion to make the game easier. A lot of players agree with these opinions, but I know that there are a lot of players, who love the game as it is and therefore don't voice their opinions that often.
I will say my opinion now: I don't want an easy game - and I'm not talking about combat difficulty.
In my opinion, the biggest adversary in Valheim is the world it self - the mist, the rain, the cold, the dark, the distances, the management of resources, inventory and hunger.
Every now and then someone suggests making the wisps light radius bigger or making a cloak that protects from the rain or allowing teleportation of metals or making bigger inventories.
And I feel, that if IG implemented all that, the game would offer no challenge, and you would not feel like a conqueror overcoming the world of Valheim.
I'm writing this because after what happened to Mistlands, I want IG to know, that some people love the game they initially wanted to create, and I hope that they will keep to that course in the future.

I'm unsure how they pulled it off, but somehow the AI is able to unerringly predict your destination and specifically alter the wind to blow in the opposite direction.
Heading towards your base? Headwind. Going to a completely different, random location on the map? Headwind. Turned your ship to make the headwind into a tailwind? It knows that and switches it around! It even somehow does this BEFORE you know that's where you need to go!
Even more, if you're exploring new lands and sailing between dangerous territories, it knows specifically when to roll in the fog to conceal those fulings and deathsquitos.
It's amazing and frankly very powerful AI that still blows (Ha! Get it?) my mind how it predicts every possible way to ruin your trip!
