Inspired by this post about felisgender subtypes! I won’t do all the dog breeds because… there’s like 200… but here are the 7 groups of breeds! (The modified genders names are just suggestions!)
[Canisgender: A doglike gender, or a gender that is influenced or compared to canines in some way.]
Terrigender: A terrier doglike gender, or a gender influenced by or compared to terriers in some way. May or may not be a kingender. Can be modified to reflect a certain breed, e.g. airetergender, for Airedale Terriers.

Laepgender: A toy doglike gender, or a gender influenced by or compared to toy dogs in some way. May or may not be a kingender. Can be modified to reflect a certain breed, e.g. chihuagender, for Chihuahuas. Name comes from læppa, Old English for lap, since these dogs are also called lap dogs.
[To clarify, this is about the breeds of dogs that are called ‘toys’ (such as Spaniels & Chihuahuas), not actual stuffed toy dogs.]

Wyrgender: A working doglike gender, or a gender influenced by or compared to working dogs in some way. May or may not be a kingender. Can be modified to reflect a certain breed, e.g. akigender, for Akitas. Name comes from wyrcan, a Germanic word that is the root of the modern English word work.

Huntigender: A hunting doglike gender, or a gender influenced by or compared to hunting dogs in some way. May or may not be a kingender. Can be modified to reflect a certain breed, e.g. cheyrgender, for Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. Name comes from huntian, Old English for hunt, since these dogs are primarily used for hunting.

Can be modified to reflect a certain breed, e.g. (bas)enjigender, for Basenjis. Can also be spelt Kuogender. Name comes from the Greek kuōn, which is the root of the English hound.

Miscegender: A non-sporting doglike gender, or a gender influenced by or compared to non-sporting dogs in some way. May or may not be a kingender. Can be modified to reflect a certain breed, e.g. dalmagender, for Dalmatians. Name comes from the Latin miscere, meaning mixed, as this is a category for breeds that don’t fit in the other groups.
