It was a pleasure meeting you in the precinct, Daniel! Hope you are surrounded by revelry tomorrow-- and for the next eight+ years.

Thanks for everything you've done. :)

Dan- in a way you'll be missed but with Hotlist, you'll still be around. And that's a very good thing.

Thank you, Dan, for all you've written here and all you've done out "there" in the nonvirtual world to ensure that this day would arrive. Today is a great day for our planet and for our nation.

I'm both happy and sad that I'll have to revise my blogroll. Unlike many of the former members of my list, your blog has amply earned the [R.I.P.] salute I'll give it.

Such a listing is, in this case, an honor. Thanks Neal.

Dan,

You've been and will remain a wonderful part of our local blogging scene, just not in the same way going forward.

The best part of this was meeting people like yourself. I'll still be around, just, as you said, in a different way.

You know, we didn't call you "Dan the Man" in high school for nothing. A big "BRAVO!" is in order for you and your blog.

I admire your perseverance and your level-headedness in your postings on this blog. And I think your attentiveness to local issues was one of the most impressive parts of it. And how great is it that the blog end with an Obama win? That's the perfect ending for this effort.

What's next?

Ian

Thanks Ian.

As for what's next, well more time spent on the Topic Hotlist site, and more time to myself. Programming is an ever evolving discipline, and I'll have more time to keep up.

But, I have to say, I was watching a Panorama (BBC) report on the U.S. healthcare problem and it made me very angry. It's stuff like that that will keep me engaged in politics regardless of whether I blog about it.
