Alan Wake 2 almost feels mad in its approach, with an overwhelming array of threads in the tale that threaten to collapse under pressure at any moment. Yet with clear and incisive logic, matched with a devotion to delightful absurdity, the team at Remedy has managed to craft a breathtaking story – one that plays out in clever, fascinating, and horrifying ways.
Alan Wake 2 is a sensational sequel that was worth waiting over a decade for. The story of Saga and Alan takes some serious twists and turns on its journey through darkness, and features some of the greatest (and most unexpected) moments of this wonderful year of gaming. Remedy has truly made something special in Alan Wake 2, and I simply wasn't prepared to love it as much as I do.
Alan Wake 2 pushes the boundaries of the interactive medium, surpassing not only previous games from the Remedy, but any other production of this scale. It's a great piece of immersive storytelling but also something so much more. An artistic manifesto? A dialogue between the creator and his creation? Whatever it is, you won't find another game like it.
This is pure arthouse and postmodern - a title that proves that there is always room for something new in the gaming medium, even if it is based on well-known pop culture tropes.
I adored the first Alan Wake, and I’ve either loved or liked every Remedy game since then. This is the first time I’ve felt so displeased by the studio’s work I’ve actually been angry about it. The pompous writing, the shoehorned mechanics that push a tiresome narrative conceit over the quality of the narrative itself, the archaic combat, the amount of time it spends doing almost nothing, Alan Wake 2 is fucking insufferable most of the time...It’s impossible to tell where the stylistically bad writing of the title character ends and the inadvertently bad game of Alan Wake 2 begins. The difference, at this point, matters not.
This game was the best narrative experience I had in many years. This sole game broke the boundries between the art and just entertainment. I expected much of the game as I loved the first instalment, however this game presented much more and exceeded those expectations. The story is full of suspence and I dont remember other game that would make me think over it at job, home and when I was trying to sleep. Especialy amazing is music which simply dropped my jaw since the end of chapter one (at Morgue). The way that lyrics and music fit what happened in chapter and all this narrative / descriptive story it tells is just amazing -never experience something like that. Since this game my favourite soundtrack from the game belonged to Vampire the Masquarade Bloodlines but now Alan Wake 2 takes 1 st. place. I truly hope from the bottom of my heart that the players will appreaciate this game and they will do what they did for Baldurs Gate 3 . I hope it will be enourmous financial success because I want more.
Saga Alana Wake.
Rozgrywka to survival horror ewidentnie inspirowany ostatnimi częściami i remake'ami Resident Evil.
Łamie wszelkie schematy i sprawnie łączy różne media i motywy.
Mr. Scratch musiał napisać scenariusz gry, by nas pomęczyć.
Tip: If you are on PC with older Nvidia hardware (like the 1080ti) install the Vulkan hack for better FPS.
I love the graphics and really like the story line but assembling the clues on the board is not for me, I wish there was a way to just automate all that process as I find that confusing/boring (I'm usually talking to roommates/listening to music/drinking wine when playing games so a game that requires 100% attention is less than ideal for me). And searching for clues seems kind of arbitrary and contrived. Why can't I shoot the lock off the cooler, isn't this America? (ha ha)
It's a great game but not for me.
Alan Wake II is the result of trying too hard to be artsy and in the process forgetting to make a compelling video game. Stay clear and play the wildy superior original instead.
Alan Wake 2 is a great gamed that is ruined by some of the worst performance issues I have seen in a PC game in ages. This game nails the story and every other aspect I was hoping for, I really did try to enjoy this but the game has some serious performance issues on PC. When you walk around especially in any forest section the game will randomly freeze, pause and stutter for no reason at all. I spent 2 days trying to find a solution to this. I even did a full system restore on my PC thinking that it was an issue with Windows. I dont understand why developers are not taking the time to properly optimize their games.
SummaryShed some light on what has long been obscured by darkness. After 11 long years, the writer's return is a reality and the dangers lurking in the dark are even more sinister than the Taken roaming Bright Falls. Alan Wake 2 turns up the level of dread as our very first dive into the survival horror genre, so expect a chilling experience w...
