Second big injury from Embiid this season. I think he won't be able to compete for the MVP award, especially if he wants to be healthy on the playoffs. Thoughts?

Solid day overall, cashed nfl and cashed nba main slate with wiggins. originally had vince williams and bane but got scared off vince coming off injury when i expected him to start so that's pretty brutal. But hopefully you guys had a great last regular season football day. I WILL be bringing back NFL videos for the playoffs im pretty sure. not 100% but im probably going to. Got a nice slate tomorrow, it's point giiannis szn.
If discord is something you are interested in, will have a link below where i have in-depth content going over each slate, player pools for cash/gpps, cores and much more.
Edit: PP - - my least favorite is probably giannis since there is blowout risk
Edit: tatum out, hauser out, i really really like porzingis, also really really like jaylen brown, jrue is in play, al horford very safe, pritchard soliid value, you will see some brissett in the rotation, white is playable
Edit: Cody martin is out. the main guys are going to have to play all the minutes they can handle. main bump is to mcgowens who is now viable. will see nick smith maybe get a bump as well. like rozier a lot
Edit: bulls minutes increase. dont love much, patrick williams viable

Throughout most of its history, the NBA has annually granted Most Valuable Player Awards to recognize its best competitors in the regular season and in the NBA Finals. These are the most substantial honors that an NBA player can receive. And since 2022, two Conference Finals MVPs have also been awarded each year to further celebrate achievement in the postseason.
Unfortunately, though, there has never been an award for the most valuable player in the entirety of the playoffs. For the vast majority of the league’s history, the only individual postseason award was entirely based on one series and only available to one team. As a consequence, some of the most incredible performances in the history of the sport have gone without any official recognition. So this project intends to retroactively celebrate some of those performances by asking this subreddit to award for every playoff tournament from 1980 to the present.

How to Vote
I will provide three different comments beneath each post representing three Playoff MVP candidates for the season being discussed. Additionally, if anybody feels that another player is deserving of candidacy, they can add a comment for that player to nominate them for the award using the process described in the following section. You can reply to these comments with arguments for or against any of the players to convince other voters of your position. Whichever player has the most upvotes after five days will be declared the Playoff MVP of that year, which will be announced the following week.
Nominating Players
If you would like to nominate a player, simply post a comment for that athlete using the same format as the comments for the other candidates. This should include the player’s name and a link to the Basketball Reference page of the team that they played for that season. Here is an example that you can copy:
PMVP Candidate: J.R. Smith -
Voting Criteria
Since the NBA doesn’t have any official criteria for how the MVP is decided, I’m not going to provide any specific criteria for this award either. However, I will suggest that voters judge the playoff MVP by the same standards that they use to judge the regular season MVP, such as individual statistics, team success, and overall impact on the game.
1999 NBA Playoffs
You can reference the following pages about this postseason as you consider which candidate to vote for or nominate.

I think it's arguable that even the Pistons have more overall talent than us. Other than Kuz and maybe Tyus this team has no starting level talent.
That's without mentioning the inevitable lack of engagement from players who know they'll probably not be here by next season.
Stop expecting Wes to pull off some Heat culture bullshit and get us wins against the insanely talented teams we face every game.
It's that time again...
Who do you want/think Detroit will take with the 5th pick? Will they trade the pick for a vet or a young player and future picks package?
It's still a long ways away but I'm curious what Cody Williams would be like in a Piston's uniform.
A fantasy basketball community. Please use the weekly stickied threads to ask questions and to get feedback about your team.
Sorry in advance for the rant.
There is something I can't get my head around.
I have had a lot of success in the past at Fantasy basketball, and then took 5 years off. I came back and rejoined a league because my now co-manager, was having a baby at the time of the draft, and his wife would kill him if he was drafting while she was pushing out a kid.
I have notice the league changed a lot in the past years. First off scoring is way up. I think I would attributed to two things.

Rule changes and league focus to boost scoring and increase pace of play.

Focus by Coaches on taking 3s and developing big men to shoot 3s. However what I don't understand is why FT% is not improving by the same correlation. Why would that be? Are they training guys to shoot from 22-25 feet out, but not 15? You can watch an NBA player during shoot around, they hit 90%+ It's a lot of muscle memory from them. But 15 feet straight on they can't seem to hit. How is it a guy can hit 2 3s a game but shoot 3/5 from the line.
Is it their nerves? I would think a FT in the 2nd quarter of a January game is on the low end of pressure situations these guys have been under.
Is it just that the coaches may say at the end of a practice go shoot 50 free throws and shower up, and not emphasize it?
Why do these guys suck so badly at Free Throws? 6 of the 20 players who have attempted 200 FTs this season shoot over 85% Seems low to me.
EDIT - Background info so that you don't need to read it all if you aren't invested, the point I am trying to make is above.
I view Fantasy Basketball like a science. 9cat Roto, seems to me to be the pinnacle and it's just math. You need to pull together a team that will get you on average, 17 points a game, under 2 turnovers, .8 blocks 1.2 steals. 4.75 assists. 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 3pm while shooting 49% from the field and 83% from the line. If you can manage that you are guaranteed to dominate your league. So it's finding the players that will help you achieve as many of them as possible, and punting a category, or 2, will definitely make it easier.
Hopefully everyone had a good weekend in both NBA and NFL. I certainly did not. NFL Week 18 always does me in and NBA I broke even on main slates but had too much fun with SD and got caught out. That is part of the game though. Tonight we have a pretty solid 6 game slate so let's try to get it all back. With that said... Our January 8th Starting Five is now LIVE! Check it out for a look at my favorite plays at each position on Draftkings for tonight.
We are officially partnered with DFS Hero to supply all of my community as well as the DFSports Reddit community with some of the best DFS Tools in the industry. What's up boys! This is the Reddit we shall use to react to every week! Post stuff in here for a chance to be featured in the videos! :)

If y'all didn't know, the main NBA subreddit is doing a . Every week, they change the banner/sidebar to match the team fanbase which donated the most the prior week (i.e. Warriors fans donated the most last week, so the banner/sidebar is Warriors themed right now).
EDIT: I guess I completely misunderstood this incentive, because the banner/sidebar just changed to be Mavs-themed. Donate to keep us in the lead, I guess!
I think it'd be cool if we made a concerted effort this week to get the Mavs on top. It'd be a fun way to show support for the team, and in support of a good cause to boot. The minimum donation is $10 - I just donated $21 to put us in first place, so any amount you give would be helpful for running up the tally!
Here's a step-by-step guide if you want to participate:
-
Go to (also contained in the post linked above)
-
Click "Donate Now!"
-
Click the "Polls" tab
-
Select the first dropdown menu that says "Team Group - Week Seven" (may already be selected)
-
Select the Dallas Mavericks
-
Follow the directions to check-out (you also get a custom flair on for donating if you care about that)
You can view the total number of donations for each fanbase by going to the and scrolling down to where it says "Polls." As I said before, there is already $21 there from me.
That's all - go Mavs!!!
