The Albertson's stores near me have Kraft Dinner for 25c this week so I bought a bunch to add to the canned goods I was bringing to the food pantry. An employee there told me that boxed Mac & Cheese is not a "preferred donation" because many clients don't have milk or butter. I said WHAT? I learned way back in my starving-student days that you don't need butter or milk to make boxed Mac & Cheese! You just use 1/4 cup of the pasta water (the water that's in the pot after you boil the pasta).

Does it taste just as good and creamy? No! Is it perfectly edible when you're hungry....yes !!! I thought everybody knew this "hack".
