Ugh this hit like a gut punch. Waking up Sunday morning, dad goes to get a paper and a dozen donuts, I take all the ads while my parents read the paper, spread them out and just get lost in all the stuff I want and the three things I might be able to actually afford. I miss it man

[–]fuelvolts 209 points210 points  (5 children)

Yep. Every Sunday was this. Dad gets the paper and I immediately pull out the Fry's, Circuit City, Radio Shack, Best Buy, hell even the Staples and Office Max ads. I wanted to look at them all!

This was every Sunday from 1996-2002.

[–]Iamredditsslave 59 points60 points  (1 child)

I took the comics too.

[–]Sephy747 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Best part was that in my Sunday paper, the comics usually wrapped the ads, so a 2 for 1...take that and sports and I'm good

[–]duckbutter888 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I had the same exact childhood! Love those Sundays just reading those ads and dreaming of that 1997 Sony Vaio (Intel Pentium 200Mhz, 32 MB EDO Ram, 3D Rage II Graphics, Yamaha OPL3-SA)

[–]fuelvolts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nice! I always wanted a Fujitsu. I thought there was nothing fancier than a Fujitsu laptop! It just sounded so "exotic".

[–]SupremoZanneSuzanne Vega before MP3 files 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]GoGoGadgetGabe 37 points38 points  (1 child)

Holy fuck we all had the same childhood. Makes me want to tear up

[–]DoctorVeggies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Already ahead of you

[–]ForefathersOneandAll 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Whew this took me back mate

[–]Alamander81 23 points24 points  (7 children)

Imagine being told back then that you could have an 85" flat screen tv for less than the cost of that 43"

[–]reezick 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Even crazier...adjusted for inflation, that $1999 43 inch TV is about $3500 in today's dollars.

Honestly looking through that lens, it's crazy how much more expensive relative to inflation things were back then (or cheaper now?).

[–]Alamander81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SNES games cost up to $80. Most were around 40-50. Now games are a dime a dozen. I have more u touched games in my PS4 library than I'll ever be able to play.

[–]Offandonandoffagain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I saw a "75 in Walmart Sunday for less than $800.

[–]stokedon 4 points5 points  (2 children)

My first HDTV was a 32" Toshiba LCD for $1800. Maxed out at 720p. Haha

[–]Alamander81 4 points5 points  (1 child)

My first was a Sony Trinitron 32" 1080i CRT for $550. It was a heavy beast but I wish I still had it for retro gaming.

[–]nismoasfuh 21 points22 points  (2 children)

Is it weird that I can SMELL this? Idk I felt like ads and toys themselves just had a nostalgic smell.

[–]Piratarojo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all, our olfactory senses are our strongest one and that's why it's so closely tied to that feeling of nostalgia. Funny though, as soon as you brought up that description, I immediately smelled that fresh newspaper scent and knew what you were talking about.

[–]Beznia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Microcenter near me and they still have paper ads at the front door. I pick them up occasionally just to browse them and they have that wonderful ad smell.

[–]Little_Comment_913 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. The best buy pullout was always my favorite.

[–]SpicyMcThiccen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And then remember the huge ones that would come around Christmas time? Those were the days

[–]FrostSwag65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Christmas Wish List 2002

[–]BigHurt30 169 points170 points  (19 children)

Crazy to see a Game Boy Advance game was retailing for $39 at that time

[–][deleted] 74 points75 points  (5 children)

Crazy the PC version of the game is 10$ less

I only did this once, but I got a PC game that our family computer couldn't handle (Jedi Outcast). So I told my Mom and she said we'll have to return it. I thought I was clever by copying the entire contents of the CD to the hard drive first. Just in case. About a year later we got a new computer and the game surprisingly installed and played just fine from the folder I copied.

    [–]Alternative-Skill167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    I remember this moment.

Walmart changed their return policy on videogames and optical media, around the time that CD and DVD burners were getting cheaper and mainstream

    [–]KeepDi9gin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair that's still happening today.

    [–]kakashi9104 27 points28 points  (7 children)

Tbf, Harry Potter on thr GBA was amazing. It was one kf my first GBA game from Christmas

    [–]steveosek 20 points21 points  (5 children)

I found it wild that for the first three movie games, the console versions were like 3d Zelda, and the gba versions were like 2d Zelda, and both versions were fun.

    [–]ChaoCobo 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Chamber of Secrets for Gamecube was a banger.

    [–]steveosek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup lol. Azkaban was great too because you got buckbeak to fly on. It wasn't until after 3 that things began to change.

    [–]Ohio195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    You just unlocked a memory

    [–]Hanoiroxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its wild they had a PS1, PS2, GBC, GBA, PC and Gamecube versions and all of them were massively different games not just the same copy pasted game with minor tweeks as you would usually expect

    [–]kp1794 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me they didn’t really keep running with this and that there aren’t more Harry Potter games. I have the Lego one for switch but it’s kind of cheap

    [–]SimplyQuid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GBA was the pinnacle of handheld back in the day, such a fantastic console.

    [–]howmanylicks26 5 points6 points  (1 child)

PS1 games were still selling for $40 new at that time, too.

    [–]established82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    $40 in 2001 is $67 today.

    [–]established82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    $40 in 2001 is $67 today.

    [–]mesohungie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, seeing that number next to that product is funny…but money had a different value then. $40 back then is like $60 now

    [–]UnObtainium17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Comes with a free owl too.

    [–]Omega3568 231 points232 points  (13 children)

I was a sophomore too and reading this warmed my heart. It was a much more fun and simpler time. I don’t think our teenage years would have been as fun if there was copious amounts of social media like now.

      [–]Sgt-Pumpernickel 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I’m probably on the younger end for this sub (early 20s), and it was for sure different. Work, school, hangout with friends, video games, tv/movies, we’re still all things we did of course.

You are right though, social media definitely changed things for us, but I would argue more so smart phones as a whole, and also streaming services changed viewing culture for us sometime in highschool. You guys probably had more fun and memories though because we didn’t leave the house as much I would wager. Same concepts, different practices is how I’d phrase it.

      [–]Vocalic985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're definitely right about the viewing culture changing. I think the last time I tuned in to watch something new, not stream it the next day, was in like 08 or 09. I still had cable for a few years after that but YouTube and Netflix pretty much broke cables strangle hold on our eyes.

      [–]judasmaiden15 7 points8 points  (1 child)

The jackass stunts were stuff me and my friends would do back then too only we didn't have a video camera. We listened to a lot of blink 182 and system of a down and played a lot of crash bash and crash team racing together

      [–]felmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally started playing Blink 182 as I opened this thread. I had to

      [–]steveosek 116 points117 points  (3 children)

While these aspects of it were fun, there's something else that year that kinda brought the mood down a bit lol.

      [–]robotpepper 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Corky Romano was released in theaters?

      [–]steveosek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to see that in theaters with my friends lol

      [–]TheAmazingDisgrace 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Which made the holidays all the more important to build back community and gather with your families.

      [–]Sarahthelizard -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I miss some stuff but my life was shit then, soooo I’m good.

My family was near starving how poor we were, and things were worse for trans people so I’m good lol.

      [–]WuriderX 98 points99 points  (7 children)

That NFL Fever was underrated as hell. You could design your own plays from scratch.

      [–]Killahdanks1 23 points24 points  (2 children)

It was a great game. One of my all time favorites and then madden had to exclusive the license and it never made it.

      [–]goremygo 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Technically, nfl fever could’ve still existed because it was a Microsoft exclusive. I think fever ceased before Madden fucked everybody over.

      [–]Canadian-Gold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great game with Peyton Manning on the cover. NFL Street was another underrated game of that era.

      [–]ChaoCobo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bro you would’ve liked Backyard Football for PC. Kid me named all his plays after Linkin Park songs.

      [–]disheveled_father 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still own that game, still play it once in a while

      [–]cale_soup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      Wild game

      [–]TheRipsawHiatus 47 points48 points  (6 children)

I was just lamenting to my boyfriend how much I miss Best Buy when I was a kid. I would get so jazzed when my dad would want to go to Best Buy to just look around, because I knew he had a weakness for all the cool gadgets as much as I did, and it usually meant we'd be coming home with something new and exciting. Or at the very least I'd get to pick out a new Playstation or computer game.

I really miss the pre-digital download days of video games. I would always run straight to the computer games and read every single box. And then the excitement of getting to take one home and start installing it as soon as possible! Eagerly reading through the manual while waiting forever for it to finish, and then the excitement once it was done and you could finally play. Simpler times...

      [–]thufirseyebrow 23 points24 points  (1 child)

I miss the manuals, when they were actual books and had bits of lore sprinkled in, not just a keyboard reference card and a paragraph about mechanics.

      [–]disheveled_father 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The books were the best. I remember sitting in the car reading them on the way home in anticipation of playing.

      [–]Gloodizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes to all of this except I use to have to watch my older sister play them all haha!!

      [–]judasmaiden15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I miss best buy too for similar reasons. I would usually buy a cd since they were cheaper then a PS1 game. I loved looking at all the different cover art of different albums just seeing what catches my eye. BB is also where I found out they let anyone buy unrated or no rating DVDs, so I got blind date uncensored

      [–]mbz321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was Best Buy along with the Gateway store thrown into the mix. On nights growing up going to the mall with the family, I'd always make my father stop here on the way home. We did purchase a few over the years.

      [–]CajunTurkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really miss the pre-digital download days of video games

My local libraries loan out video games so I get the fun of picking out video games while not paying anything for them (though we do pay for these with our taxes).

      [–]W4ingro1995 76 points77 points  (3 children)

Despite how expensive everything is now, sometimes we need to stop and appreciate how much cheaper (and better) TVs are now

      [–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Right? My OLED was cheaper than that 2-ton box TV that was impossible to get up a flight of stairs.

      [–]established82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using an inflation tool: $300 in 2001 is equal to around $500 today.

      $50 in 2001 - > $84 in 2022.

So technically speaking, our video games have gotten CHEAPER. Systems stayed about the same.

      [–]stromm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a bit hard for those of us who had a black and white 23” console TV as a kid, and moved up to a 25” color WITH CLICK-REMOTE!

It was amazing! And we weren’t rich either.

I could buy a 70” tv nowadays. But the quality of it would suck to the point I would hate watching it. I can’t afford the REALLY good ones.

      [–]Exoticfroggy 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Early 2000s was in my opinion the best te to grow up. Being born in 93 i was able to enjoy hanging out with friends with no technology and also grew up right when tech like phones, the internet and social media was at it's infancy. It was just enough tech but not enough to consume you like today.

      [–]ev4150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think anyone born in the 80s up until about 2000ish had a perfect childhood.

      [–]FandomMenace 170 points171 points  (36 children)

So much money for that piece of shit TV. $3400 in today's money.

$85 each on those Xbox games, FYI. $508 on the Xbox 1.

      [–]Wildkeith 48 points49 points  (9 children)

I worked at Best Buy back then. We had a 42” Pioneer plasma on display with a $30,000 price tag.

      [–]FandomMenace 20 points21 points  (7 children)

I find that if you have a business you should always sell a challenge item so some moron with more money than sense can show off and make you a very rich person in turn.

      [–]letsgotgoing 14 points15 points  (5 children)

The “moron” with money pays an early adopter tax. They justify increased investment in the tech by the big company. Eventually it becomes affordable for nearly all.

      [–]mccarronjm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve really come to appreciate that concept recently with hybrid/electric cars. I remember 15 or so years ago when a Prius was a rare sight. Now Teslas are commonplace. Now I have some appreciation for the folks who get the ball rolling.

      [–]FandomMenace -1 points0 points  (3 children)

A Honda will do more or less the same job as a Porsche.

      [–]letsgotgoing 10 points11 points  (2 children)

The “porsche” likely had traction control, anti lock brakes, and numerous other features before the Honda. The early adopter “morons” buying those will pay the tax so companies can bring them mainstream.

      [–][deleted]  (1 child)

      [deleted]

        [–]bentheruler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New si or whatever has more going for than 80s or whatever Porsche. I see their point.

        [–]socaTsocaTsocaT 35 points36 points  (9 children)

And it was deeper than the screens were wide. Fuck those things were heavy.

        [–]Dcourtwreck 21 points22 points  (1 child)

It's a projection TV, mostly empty space behind the screen itself. We had one, it was surprisingly light (compared to a large CRT anyway).

        [–]gngstrMNKY 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Just checked - this was 120 lbs. Heavy, but a 36" Trinitron was 215.

        [–]FandomMenace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

        Lowest price!

        [–]TheStegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy and awkward AF. All the weight was on one side. I bought a 36” Wega with my first real “adult” money after college and it took 3 of us to haul it up 3 flights of stairs to the apartment.

        [–]robby7345 33 points34 points  (4 children)

That's because its a "top of the line" TV. It would be the equivalent of a OLED tv today. Still way more expensive due to parts being cheaper now, but it is a bit more understandable. For instance a 43 inch OLED could go for upwards of 1400 today, where as a LED one is usually about 250.

        [–]FandomMenace 17 points18 points  (3 children)

Still less than half the price. My comment was showing people how cheap things have gotten so that one might appreciate that fact. I paid like $400 for a 70 inch Samsung a couple years ago and it's great.

        [–]CharLsDaly 18 points19 points  (0 children)

        Dude, that’s a 1080 DLP in 2001. That’s like the equivalent of a 8k @ 85” in today’s standard.

        Netflix didn’t upgrade to 1080 until 2012.

        [–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Yeah, but rent has skyrocketed so I'm still coming out way behind

        [–]rr777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those old 4.3 projection screens had a dim screen output and eventual convergence issues. But some did come with decent speakers.

        [–]saruin 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My biggest TV upgrade was to a plasma 42" from a 24" flatscreen. Paid about the same price as the ad but this was in 2005.

        [–]FandomMenace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid like 800 bucks for a 42 inch Samsung in like 2007.

2022: "Yeah we'll get in two PS5 digital editions maybe next month."

          [–]Winnipesaukee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember having to work the launch of the Xbox when I worked at Best Buy around the time of this ad. They were kept locked up at customer service.

          [–]CaptainKelly80s 17 points18 points  (2 children)

The good old days when something new came out and you could actually just stroll to the store and buy it. 2 years on and I've still yet to see a PS5 in the wild.

          [–]steveosek 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Scarcity was always a thing for consoles at launch though, just not like now. When ps2 came out, it took me 3 months of calling stores before I found one and the store only had the one. Scarcity usually doesn't last more than a year at most. BTW a lot of people on the gaming sub have been pointing out that stores have been having ps5 consistently for a few weeks now. People are just walking in and getting them, seeing them sitting in the case and not being crowded around. Online is still a nightmare, but shops are getting them consistently now. It seemed pretty widespread too.

          [–]Banana-Man6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PS5s have been easy to buy at MSRP in the UK for about 12-18 months now

          [–]paperclouds412 16 points17 points  (1 child)

I still have Munches Odyssey it actually plays on the Xbox One.

          [–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (3 children)

This makes me even more grateful that my older brother got me an Xbox and Halo with his own money when it came out. He never played it as he was/is a bit older than myself. But yeah, $300 bucks is $300 bucks 😅.

[–]TornWillET Phone Home 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What news! Xbox is here at last! Nov. 15 everybody! Mark it on your calendar.

          [–]Suckmahcancernuts 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Life is so trash these days. Does anyone actually enjoy it?

          I'm kinda fed up.

          [–]Alfredo412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got that Harry Potter game on the GBA for Christmas in 2001

          [–]KrilTsutsaroth69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

never did i think old newspaper ads would be nostalgic time capsules

          wish more were saved

          [–]TopScruffy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those Xbox controllers were so bad, I remember everyone roasting those. Microsoft is lucky they had halo.

          [–]LunaLoveHarley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

          halo and thps please.

          [–]saruin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a time I used to grab the Sunday paper just to browse the Best Buy ads first. Whoever did the marketing and yellow and black price tags knew wtf they were doing. I'd get pissed if the Best Buy ad was missing.

          [–]Iamredditsslave 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That surround sound system seems like it would age pretty well.

          [–]Banana-Man6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audio tech doesn't age anywhere near as fast as compute and graphical tech does. My Dad's 30-odd year old hifi system still sounds pretty great

          [–]SmashAtoms_ 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Man I wanted project Gotham racing so bad as a wee 11 year old boy. Alas, I had a PS2 lol. All good though because we had gta as an exclusive for a while which was pretty awesome. I remember skipping school for days after I learned how open the world was in that game. Ah those were the days

          [–]bentheruler 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Gran tourismo was always the best around this time period. I had an Xbox and luckily (at the time) loved fast and the furious so midnight racer need for speed whatever the mods were more fun.

          [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feels like everything after gran turismo 3 just doesn't compare. Racing goat for me.

          [–]Aggressive-Falcon977 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Wait why on earth was the GBA Harry Potter game $10 more expensive then the PC version!?

          [–]betarage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

          Because its on a cartridge.

          [–]flargenhargen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

holy crap, I just burned this ad in my fireplace a few days ago.

it's been sitting at the bottom of my kindling pile since 2001, and then I see it again here.

          life is so weird sometimes.

          I remember holding this ad.

          [–]tgwill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working at Best Buy in the early 2000’s was awesome. So much new tech dropping all the time with insane discounts.

One thing I don’t miss is having to take down CRT TV’s from the top shelf. And the customers.

          [–]Zardoz666Turtle Power! 7 points8 points  (2 children)

My lord, is that really what the original Xbox controllers looked like?

          [–]palex25 5 points6 points  (1 child)

          Yes, they were Hugeee

          [–]Iamknoware 1 point2 points  (1 child)

In 2001 I graduated from HS and went on an epic road trip from AK to LV. I told my work I'll call em when I came back.

12.99 for a cd? Damn, that hasnt really changed

          [–]CapytannHook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still have the Amped 2 case+ disc, it was a very good snowboard game with a tonne of content.

Early xbox green and black colors are goat

Wow! Nothing even mentioned the credit card or financing. That is what really dates it for me as an employee lmao.

          [–]Crazyripps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neighbor had that tv and I thought it was the coolest fucking thing ever.

          [–]SwissyVictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inflation from 2001 to 2021 is about 70%

That $300 Xbox on sale is $510 in today's dollars. Those $50 games on sale are $85 in today's dollars.

          [–]Patient-Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was walking through a store the other day and saw a sale on some TV’s. 60” + for less than a grand. And I recalled to the days like above where they were smaller and multi thousand dollars. And that’s not even counting for inflation.

Like you could put a huge flatscreen in little Jimmys bedroom for not a lot of money. Years ago any tv in a kids room would have been too expensive.

          Time marches on….

and here I am playing on the same controller layout over 20 years later.

          [–]GreenGhostBravo 4 points5 points  (1 child)

          "The Duke" controller tho

          [–]Jett_Pyre 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I haven't been to Best Buy in years.

          [–]ChaoCobo -1 points0 points  (3 children)

They’re actually very good. I got a MicroSD card, a pretty good one from a good brand, for like $17 and it came with an adapter to plug it into my PC right away. 32GB for my 3DS. They had a faster one for like $25 but I only needed this speed. The prices are pretty fair, and if you go and ask, they will show you Pokémon cards you can buy (they keep them behind bars so thieves and scalpers don’t know so don’t tell anyone sketchy).

I still have my original Xbox and giant controllers from back then.

            [–]KregeTheBear 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My dad had that television. What a heavy son of a bitch it was

Edit: it was the “big screen” tv of the era lol

            [–]reezick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right!? Now my parents have a 50 inch and I have a 75, which is barely "large."

I wonder what we'll be using in 50 years.

            [–]mynameisrichard0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro. Im so jealous of you guys who HAD childhoods. Parents who were just Parents. Not pill junkies who spend every cent on getting high. I want to experience the PSP when it was new. I want to explore youtube when it started. 28 years and I've only been struggling the whole time. Where's my fun. Now inflation here and raising rent is just gonna kill us all. And all I wanted was some down time, maybe be paid what I'm worth. Can't enjoy adulthood. Can't reminisce about being a kid. I hate this existence.

            [–]Rancid_Lunchmeat 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The best part is in 2001 you buy that 43 inch Sony for 2 grand and by 2006, you couldn't pay somebody to carry it out of your house to get rid of it.

            [–]JDCTsunami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to work for the merch department at BB during this time. I definitely put out the new price tags for this add that Sunday!

            [–]ev4150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is extremely nostalgic for me. The Xbox was the first console I ever owned and Nfl fever was the first game I bought for it but this was in 2002. I remember seeing the ads in 01 and wanting one so bad and my uncle ended up getting me one.

            [–]Killahdanks1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sony DLP! I owned that bad boy. Let’s go.

            [–]HaoieZ -1 points0 points  (2 children)

How much would a CRT TV that size weigh? I dread to think lifting it.

            [–]Dudewithaname 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being a projection TV it wouldn't be as heavy as you dread. However, I had a 52 inch screen from that time that weighed 250 pounds. So yeah, they're as heavy as you dread.

            [–]SmashAtoms_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those were rear projection TV's. They were so massive they had wheels lol. My family had a 53" and I don't think we could've lifted it if we tried. They had pretty good sound as the speakers at the bottom were pretty big but that was about the only positive thing about them

            [–]ChaoCobo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why were they always 27”? That seems like a weird standard? Yet my tv and my mom’s tv were both 27”.

            [–]Brainwave1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GBA HP game is more expensive than the PC one.

Even they knew the PC version was the worst one.

            [–]gothrules4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange to think this issue came out just 2 months after 9/11

            [–]Fast2Furious4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Harry Potter PC game is soo good.

            [–]Canum164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

            [–]Elevated_Chillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why doesn’t the xbox have a price but everything else does?

I remember being blown away by Project Gotham. Loved the kudos system, the soundtrack, “photo realistic” London……

that Harry Potter game for ps2 was pretty dope

            [–]porzellanladen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never finished that Harry Potter Game. The quidditch training destroyed my self esteem for a very long time.

            [–]july_baby92 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The " lowest price 1999.99" for a TV is what got me lol

            [–]davewashere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And you probably couldn't even give it away for free today.

            [–]IAmASimulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

43” big boy tv for $2k lol

How have I never heard of THPS 2x?

            [–]KevinStoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy how expensive stuff was back then. I remember around 2000, my mom bought a 60 inch monitor and iirc she paid like $7-8,000 for it. Actually still had it and used it until around 2017ish. I had to help move it when it stopped working, thing was crazy heavy.

            [–]bmbreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amped was so much fun. It was really relaxing in free mode. They did a good job capturing the feel of snow boarding for the time.

            [–]toyotasupramike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn on the fuuunn ... best buy

            [–]ItsJustMeMaggieShwing! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol projection TVs… they were such a status symbol but the picture was terrible.

            [–]HectorCruzSuarez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That HP game was my jam. Flipendo bitch.

            [–]blackredsilvergold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Sony receiver and it was terrible. I replaced it with an Onkyo that has held up like a champ.

            [–]Simulatedbog545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I've definitely played that Harry Potter game on PC, this is taking me back...

6GB hard drive on the original Xbox
