I feel like this is an outlier poll. As a man who has spent a small amount of time learning the dark arts of the devilish subject of polling, this should be treated as the potential ceiling for Harris in Michigan and not what is likely to happen

[Heyman] News: Yankees are among 6 teams to check in on Blake Snell. While Giants listen, Snell turned in uber dominant performance Saturday (15 K), SF starters are killing it now and they’re just 4 1/2 out of WC. Other complications: NYY in top tax bracket and BS $30M 2025 player option

I’m in full tear it down and sell mode, but I can’t deny the temptation to not is very real and probably valid. I believe they also have the easiest remaining schedule. Could definitely pull a 2023 Dbacks style run. Unlikely, but definitely not impossible

As much as this season has been an abject failure, there are definitely some bright spots to look forward to going forward. And in the case of Ramos and Fitzgerald (and Birdsong hopefully too going forward), it’s been completely out of nowhere. And nice to see Harrison playing well too. It’s clear he has a ways to improve but a 22 year old showing that he is at bare minimum a major league caliber starter already is a great sign!

Just had to check that year’s and wow that was a horrible qb class. Yeah I think I’m inclined to agree with you. I think 2022 sans Purdy could be top 3 worst qb class at least since 2000, but 2007 takes the cake

2021 had 4 busts in the first half of the first round and 2022 was one pick away of being possibly the worst qb class of all time. Rough couple years for qbs

So Tua just got $212m/4 Years. $53m a season. What will Brock end up costing 😳

22797
commented

I don’t think Tua money is gonna be what he asks for and gets. He’s going to want to be paid more than Lawrence because Brock has no peers in his draft class to compare to and is better than Trevor Lawrence who was the best in the previous draft class

I’m curious what he thinks the 3rd should be. Does he think it should’ve been the rams or eagles loss year?

We can thank the weird 12th amendment for him not being able to be VP. In short, if a president and VP come from the same state, they can’t get the electoral votes from said state.

Has Mike Dunleavy Jr. Ruined the team or improved the team?

22797
commented

Let’s see, he got out of an albatross contract, nailed his first draft, and made solid FA deals. Maybe the team hasn’t improved but he has at least given it a future if everything goes to shit this year. The only knock you could say is the Draymond extension but his on court performance last season was actually really good; he just happened to be extra crazier than normal and missed a solid quarter of the season suspended. MDJ has made tough, unpopular, but necessary decisions. He’s been a great GM so far IMO.

Almost Every team has at least some platoons. Usually it’s not half the lineup like ours, but every team could use an above average lefty hitting, good defensive outfielder. There were players on our WS teams that were worse than Yaz, but a mid team like these Giants has no need for a barely above average player who’s 33. His ABs should be going to young players who better fit our timeline (i.e. beyond this year)

It honestly shouldn’t. He’s an above average hitter (116 ops+) and a great defender. He won’t fetch a lot, but any contender should want him as either a platoon bat/defensive replacement

What you linked happened when she was attorney general of all of CA, not the AG of San Francisco. State Attorneys general are nothing like normal local prosecuting DA

You’re right to not believe it. His normal coaching style to have strong assistants and listen to them. It’s a big reason why Mark Jackson was fired and he was hired. So many of his assistants either have been or have gone on to be head coaches. Hell 2 separate teams have poached 2 of his assistants. Kings took Walton and Brown, and NOP took Gentry and Willie Green

Teams records when their pitchers go 7+ innings

Without doing any research, I’m going to assume Logan Webb has at least 10 of the giants 14 games where the starter goes 7+

Actually, no. She was a DA for San Francisco and a CA attorney general. A shit piece of journalism by the San Jose Mercury news implied that she sent around 2,000 black people to prison over marijuana charges and then this was blown up in the 2020 primary by Tulsi Gabbard. In reality she prosecuted and convicted about 2,000 people on weed charges but only sent 45 of them to prison. Demographic info is not available. She actually was quite progressive for the time as a DA, however she probably will play into the ‘cop’ narrative because it’s definitely better as a general election strategy especially when going up against a felon and sex predator

Played 5 minutes last season and somehow made the Top 100

So I know these are voted on, but isn’t this list supposed to be what is expected in 2024 and not how he played (or this case didn’t) in 2023. As in the players think Aaron Rodgers is the 92nd player going into 2024?

[insert firebombing Walmart meme here]

Unless by some miracle they go 6-1 the rest of the week, it’s time to sell. This team needs to have Matos, Fitzgerald, Wisely, etc. in every game to see what we have. Luciano needs to be up, who cares if he stinks in the field, he needs reps more than the team needs wins. I know there’s some roster configurations going on but Birdsong needs to be in the rotation full time. Anyone who’s not under team control after 2025 should be on the market.
