I guess I’m the boring old guy now but I always gently recommend that being in some form of therapy first can be very helpful. At least for me it got me very used to being more grounded/present/introspective and it taught me many tools that helped me navigate those first few trips. Aka there were moments on my first 2 lsd trips were I think the trip would have gone “bad” without those therapy tools and instead they became positive, transformative trips. That might be me being over cautious though. Read about it, watch the psychedelic documentaries and if you want to dip your toe it in agree, start with low dose mushrooms and as mentioned about set & setting are huge. Trust your intuition and don’t rush it. You never feel “ready” but you’ll probably have a sense of when you’re “ready enough”
