News on Travis. This was posted to the
FS-Subrosa
Mailing List by Tanya recently.
Travis has just finished recording an album. The artwork and
printing is in the process. THe music still pours from him. He
has enough material since the recording to do another. It all
takes so much time and footwork. He has played solo here and
there, but it is always last minute and very random. When i get
wind i will post the time and date.

Tomorrow is the 8th of September; 9 years since the crash
that put an end to For Squirrels. On an odd coincidence,
my good friend, Nate, is moving down to Florida, and there
is an open-mic night at this cafe near us on Wednesdays.
My friend Seth and I, are going to play "Nathaniel's Song"
as sort of a going-away gift. Because he's a FS fan
...and his name is "Nate" ...and he's moving to Florida.
Also, someone sent me this poem that she wrote about
For Squirrels. I rather liked it, so I thought I'd put
it up here. It's called "Gone But Not Forgot", by
Erin Schroeder:
September 8th marks the date on which many hearts still mend.
It was a day when Heaven received some very special friends.
South of Savanna was the location of this spot.
Jack, Bill, & Tim are gone in body but will never be forgot.
With the albums "Baypath Road," "Plymouth," and
"Example,"
Their creativity, effort, & personality, these were just samples.
Going on to play music for more than just squirrels,
In the scheme of life, these men were definitely pearls.
Clever songs including "Flagboy," "Under
Smithville," & "Disenchanted,"
These will forever play & linger on in our heads.
"I just want to hold the sun. I just want my day to come."
Listening to "8:02 P.M.," these are the words that I hum.
But so far only half the story has been told.
Jack & Travis also helped this band to become gold.
These strong musicians created "Subrosa," a new band.
Proving they would make their friends proud & continue to stand.
So during this ninth month of our current year,
Let us join our thoughts as we hold those mentioned dear.
And as they look down on us from up above,
Continue to surround them with our undying love.

Hey, if you're on the mailing list, you've already seen this,
but I thought it was neat:
hi guys!
i just wanted to share a little fact thats
abstractedly relevant to for squirrels. at
"8:02pm" tonight (2-20-02) there will be what is
called a palindromic reuinion. there has only
ever been one before this dates. a palindrome
is when characters letters or numbers read
the same way backwards as they do forward.
an example for this is the word racecar.
forward its r-a-c-e-c-a-r
backwards its r-a-c-e-c-a-r
anyway, at "8:02pm" tonight the date and time
will be 20:02 02 20 2002.
