Often I hear from NBA players about the .5 or even 1 second rule.
Seems to mostly pertain to guards coming off pin downs and DHO’s… where the objective is to catch it, square up to shoot/drive for a .5 or 1 second count. If not on, swing the ball. Most times the motion or play is a pass screen away action.
How does this with Point Fwd/Centers whi play on top, the nail or elbows?
Players like Jokic, Draymond, Sengun, Sabonis etc… seem to hold the ball a lot longer looking to hit the split cut (to the rim) then execute the DHO.
Do they not have the same rule? Guards wings are told to look to score, what’s the bigger guys read progression. Ex: look to pass and last resort score? Ex: score then look to facilitate?
They have to be taught something or way to read the game.

The link includes only from 2007, but I personally checked every year until 1977 (where turnovers were started to be counted) for players averaging at least 5 assists. The cutoff is a little arbitrary, but it is make sure that players in this stat actually plays and helps their teammates score.
If the cutoff was 6, this season's Cp3 would be the best in history, but would leave out hoe imoressive what Tyus Jones has been doing. Not only this year either, every year, his AST/TOV ratio is at historical levels. His average is 6.86 so far.
This also shows the longevity of Chris Paul. Even though he is not scoring very well, his playmaking is as good as ever. He seems to become more comfortable with his role lately as well.

I don't watch basketball much, but I have noticed that in college basketball, the coaches are almost always out of their chair yelling at the players giving them instructions from the floor while the game is being played, but when I watch the NBA, the coaches are mostly in their chairs and silent for the most part even when the game is close and coming to an end.
Why is this?
Thus far whenever they've lost a game, they immediately bounce back.
, Wolves are a top 5 defense (102.6 defrtg) and top 3 offense (127.3 offrtg) with a 71% TS. They have found ways to execute with big plays both offensively and defensively in 90% of their clutch games. Their 1 clutch loss was the first game of the season: a 3 point loss to the Toronto Raptors.
They’re also , Denver has the next best record against western conference teams at 13-8.
It's been a magical season thus far for Wolves fans. Wolves have done the above with the 6th hardest strength of schedule in the league (Celtics #1 hardest SOS!). Granted, the team has had rest advantages so more back to backs are on the horizon.
Mike Conley believes "we haven't really tapped into our potential yet." Can this team win 40 games before losing 20 games?
Truly proves that what Presti did for the Thunder can’t be replicated. First it was Hennigan now it’s Weaver
