Our mission is to bring community, belonging and empowerment to everyone. So we're continually working to support the safety of our users by evolving our policies and tooling. Our partnership with StopNCII.org, paired with our layered content moderation, has proved effective in detecting and removing non-consensual media through its hash matching tool. We continue to explore ways to expand our tooling and capabilities. Learn more below.
In 2021, StopNCII.org was launched to prevent the non-consensual sharing of intimate images across a global scale. Today marks 2 years since the launch of StopNCII.org and since then, over 182,000 adults across the globe have created cases to protect their intimate images and videos from being shared across participating platforms. Compared to 2022, hashes created by StopNCII.org have increased by almost 1000%, highlighting the prevalence of online intimate image abuse across the world. Over this time, 9 participating platforms have joined the StopNCII.org initiative to prevent the non-consensual sharing of intimate images and videos from spreading further across their channels. Partners now include Facebook, Instagram, #Threads, Bumble Inc., TikTok, OnlyFans, Reddit, Inc., Aylo and Snap Inc., who alongside StopNCII.org’s global network of NGOs, are protecting adults across the world. StopNCII.org has and will continue to develop, and you can read more about this in our latest release. ⬇ #YourImageYourRules https://lnkd.in/ePD-jq2f
