Our Mission

The National Center for Science Education promotes and defends accurate and effective science education because everyone deserves to engage with the evidence.

NCSE works with teachers, parents, scientists, and concerned citizens at the local, state, and national levels to ensure that topics including evolution and climate change are taught accurately, honestly, and confidently.

Science is a team sport, with a season that stretches across the centuries. Future Nobel prize laureates may be learning about science in Omaha or Oahu, New Orleans or New Jersey.Ann Reid
Executive Director, NCSE

Misconceptions can give students the false confidence that they understand a phenomenon when their understanding is actually faulty. In the worst case, it can stop people from acknowledging facts.
