I got a hold of my own pool table a few months ago and have been practicing quite a bit on it by myself. However I’m part of a pool league and am a regular at the pool hall.
There have been times I’ve thought about telling some people on my team about it and inviting them to play (not all but maybe 1 or 2 that I really click with). But I’m also conflicted because I don’t want my place to become a revolving door - having to cater drinks/food, how to kick them out when I want to sleep, worried about noise (I have a family + kids that sleep early), word spreading to other pool hall regulars who would want to befriend me because I have my own table.
So far even without telling them, my teammates usually have no issue coming out to the pool hall to practice together. So I feel that arrangement already works out fine as people can depart and show up when they want to and order food or drinks whenever. So with that I haven’t felt a need to tell them either.
What are some pros cons you’ve experienced after sharing that you own a pool table to other players? And would you recommend it?
