Wisconsin Republicans Humbly Suggest They Should Win Every Election, Regardless of How People Vote by [deleted] in politics

Minnesota will welcome you with open arms. We are desperate for workers with the lowest unemployment rate of any state since they started recording. We'll even let you remain a Packers fan.

Here's who would benefit from Scott Jensen's income tax plan. Spoiler alert: it's rich people by unholymoses in minnesota

A retail worker would get a $0 tax cut but his plan "pays" for the cut by instating a tax on clothing and food. Thus, Minnesotans on the lower end of the income scale would be paying more in taxes.

Who are you voting for Hennepin County Attorney? by thedubiousstylus in Minneapolis

[–]semisentient 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He was running as a Republican for MN attorney general and was not able to secure an endorsement from the party. So he pivoted to run for HC Attorney.

I've argued in front of him when he was a judge in Washington County and thought he was a pretty decent judge. However, after watching some of his behavior in the Republican primary, I soured on him. Particularly around the election denial bullshit. I liked him as a person and a judge, but the guy will never get my vote after that.

There's a 100% chance he says something antagonistic between now and then. I'm still giving that asshole a standing ovation for the effort he put into this team.

PSA: do not even think about renting at Bolero flats by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]semisentient 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's really sad. I lived there a couple of years back and it was great. Paid around $1750. The place was nice, clean, and repairs were taken care of really quickly. I heard that it had gone downhill fast starting around the end of 2019. Looking at some of the reviews and hearing people talk about their experiences has made me happy that I left before I had any problems.

The case for exiling Manchin and Sinema from the Democratic Party by [deleted] in politics

He already did it to Obama from 2014 to 2016 when he refused to hold a vote on any Federal Appellate Court nominee for two years. People focus on the Supreme Court but Federal District Courts are just as important and McConnel has been playing this game for over a decade to the great success his donors.

Google Fi + Pixel 6 = no calls from non-FI numbers by raydude in GooglePixel

There might be an issue with the network setup for your phone. I had project fi awhile ago and recently switched back to Google Fi. After the most recent switch, there where some holdover issues from my previous account settings. Putting in the "Fi Auto" code fixed it for me. Not sure if this is the same thing that's going on with your device but it's worth a shot.

Try putting this into the dialer: * # * # 342886 # * # *

The link below has other codes that may help.

Why are the police here so fucking stupid? by KingofKings180 in Minneapolis

I used to live in that apartment building pre-covid and it was a nice building. It definitely was not people living "on the margins." Rent was probably $1700~$2000 per month for units. It was filled with corporate Target employees and law students from St. Thomas. That's not to say that the building didn't change in recent years but it certainly isn't a slum tower filled with low income tenants.

What's a job or profession you absolutely wouldn't do ? by Tuesday2017 in AskReddit

In my first week of law school, we literally had a "look at the person to your left, look at the person to your right, all five of you will be alcoholics at some point. Congrats on your life choices." moment during orientation. It was trying to come off as a warning but ended up sounding like an inevitability. I didn't realize the true extent of it until I started practicing.
