New Model Army - Great Expectations 7'' (1983)

What singles/bands did you accidently discover when going through your local record shop's cheapo section?

Mascara - No Meaning EP (1980)

A huge thanks to Stuart Blackaller for providing me with "digital" Mascara after all these years. Mascara, along with Sabotage, were Plymouth's best Punk Bands. Like Sabotage, on the local Optimistic Records label but unfortunely someone managed to spell Mascara with two S's on the front cover! The first Sabotage single is also on this site but both of them are over at Gary's excellent Always Searching For Music. Guitarist Chris and drummer Brat went on to later form the band Hysteria who had 2 songs on the 1st Life Is A Joke Compilation. Brat was replaced by Midge by the time Hysteria's Behind The Veil EP was released in 1984. Chris married my Sister (Caroline) who was the lead vocalist. You can find the Hysteria EP over at Cactus Mouth Informer if you're interested.
