The former police prison Klapperfeld in the inner-city of Frankfurt am Main was erected in 1886 and throughout its 115 years of existence was exclusively used for the repression and oppression of people.
The initiative 'Faites votre jeu!', which was founded as a autonomous, self-organizing cultural and political initiative, moved into the former prison at the end of April 2009, opening the building to the general public with numerous events, projects and an exhibition gallery. The 'working group history' is part of the initiative and it dedicates its work to a critical political approach to the prison’s past.

The night of 31 October in all western lands is celebrated 
as a night where the frontiers between the enforced reality 
and our real desires are abolished. 
This is a night against all kinds of normalities 
where the frozen social roles derive. 

The children become dangerous, 
the poor come out in the streets, 
the rich ones hide themselves terrified under their bed-covers, 
lovers express their uncontrollable sexual passions out in public.

Night of the Dead is also a night of memory 
for all those lost ones, 
all those that left their lives 
without succeeding to materialize their dreams, 
who left their plans unfinished 
and their desires unfulfilled.

Also, it is a long drunken wild late night celebration, 
an awaken night for all those living imprisoned, 
all these living dead buried in deluded needs 
and fake desires. 
This is a night of magic 
where everything we were dreaming of for a long time 
NOW we have to put into practice. 

The days of our apathy and fear are over. 
In the deep darkness you can hear a muffled howl:

Τα τελευταία χρόνια, σε πολλές περιοχές του κόσμου ξέσπασαν εκρήξεις διαμαρτυρίας στις οποίες μεγάλα πλήθη ξεχύθηκαν οργισμένα στους δρόμους. 

 Οι ξεσηκωμοί πήραν διάφορες μορφές αλλά ακόμα και στις πλέον εξεγερτικές τους στιγμές δεν μπόρεσαν να οδηγήσουν σε κάποια ριζική αλλαγή ούτε να λύσουν τα προβλήματα που τις παράγουν.      Ποια είναι τα όρια που συνάντησαν, και τι θα μπορούσε να μας πάει πέρα από αυτά τα όρια; Εάν τώρα ξέρουμε πως μία εξέγερση δεν θα καταστρέψει τον καπιταλισμό, οφείλουμε να αναρωτηθούμε τι μπορούμε να κάνουμε για να προωθήσουμε ένα τέτοιο στόχο :       

τι ελπίζουμε να επιτύχουμε με αυτές τις εξεγέρσεις, ποιος είναι ο ρόλος τους στο μακροπρόθεσμο όραμά μας, και ποια είναι η στρατηγική μας για το χρονικό διάστημα που τις ακολουθεί;  Σε αυτή την παρουσίαση συμμετέχοντες σε κοινωνικούς αγώνες από την Ανατολική Ευρώπη ​​και τη Βόρεια Αμερική, θα μιλήσουν για τις εμπειρίες τους και θα θέσουν ερωτήσεις. Παρακαλούμε ελάτε έτοιμοι να συζητήσουμε! Αυτή η συζήτηση είναι μέρος περιοδείας αμερικανών συντρόφων & μιας εν εξελίξει έρευνας 

σχετικά με το θέμα :                                                                    

"Μετά το Αποκορύφωμα / Ο Κύκλος Ζωής των Κοινωνικών Κινημάτων" 
 

Οργανώνεται σε συνεργασία με το Κενό Δίκτυο από την αναρχική συλλογικότητα CrimethInc. που με την σκέψη και την δράση της  από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του ’90 προσφέρει στρατηγικές  αναλύσεις από τις πρώτες γραμμές του μετώπου του κοινωνικού πολέμου σε όλο τον κόσμο.

Τι είναι η αναρχική συλλογικότητα CrimethInc.;

Από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 1990, η συλλογικότητα CrimethInc. υπήρξε ένα από τα πιο παραγωγικά και εκτεταμένα σχέδια Αναρχικών στη Βόρεια Αμερική. Οι συμμετέχοντες έχουν διασχίσει πολλές φορές τον κόσμο για αμέτρητες περιοδείες και  δράσεις, παρήγαγαν μια σειρά από βιβλία (Days of Love/Nights of War, Recipes for Disaster, Expecting Resistance, Work: Capitalism.Economics.Resistance, Contradictionary), περιοδικά (Rolling Thunder), και άλλα έντυπα, συμπεριλαμβανομένων της πολυσέλιδης μπροσούρας «Fighting For Our Lives / Πολεμώντας για τις Ζωές μας» σε 650.000 αντίτυπα. Από τις μέρες των διαδηλώσεων του Σηάτλ ως σήμερα, τις συγκρούσεις ενάντια στις συνόδους κορυφής της διεθνούς οικονομικής και πολιτικής ελίτ και τις εξεγέρσεις σε πολλά σημεία του κόσμου, με τις εκστρατείες τους ενάντια στην κρατική καταστολή, την συμμετοχή τους στα σημεία ανάφλεξης του κοινωνικού αγώνα, τα εκδοτικά εγχειρήματα και τις αναλύσεις τους, προσέφεραν πάντα ένα ανοιχτό κάλεσμα εμπλουτισμού και εμβάθυνσης της σύγχρονης αναρχικής σκέψης και δράσης. Ανοίγοντας πάντα επίμαχες συζητήσεις,  η συλλογικότητα CrimethInc. μέσα στα χρόνια συνεχίζει να προκαλεί με ριζοσπαστικές θέσεις τις κυβερνήσεις, τους ρεφορμιστές αλλά και το ευρύ κοινό.

After the Crest: What We Do between Upheavals

Over the past few years, many places have witnessed sudden eruptions of protest in which everyone pours into the streets. This has taken many forms: anti-austerity protests in Europe, Occupy in the US and elsewhere, transportation protests in Brazil, the Gezi resistance in Turkey, the uprising in Bosnia, and most recently—and problematically—the nationalist revolution in Ukraine.

But all of these have passed without solving the problems that gave rise to them. What limits have they reached, and what would it take to go beyond these limits? If a single upheaval won’t bring down capitalism, we have to ask what’s important about such high points of struggle: what we hope to get out of them, how they figure in our long-term vision, and how to make the most of the period that follows them.

In this presentation, participants in popular struggles in Slovenia and North America will speak about our experiences and pose questions. Please come ready to discuss!

This tour is part of an ongoing investigation on the theme “After the Crest,” organized through the anarchist collective CrimethInc.

Les discutants enquêteront sur la stratégie, la tactique et la théorie à partir des soulèvements mondiaux de 2011 et tenteront de proposer des réponses sur le développement possible des mouvements actuels. En anglais avec traduction française

George Katsiaficas, élève d’Herbert Marcuse et historien des mouvements sociaux, présentera son travail sur “l’effet Eros,” le pouvoir qui rassemble les gens pour combattre les pouvoirs de “Thanatos” (la Mort) et nous partagera ses expériences et conclusions de son nouveau livre ‘Les soulèvements inconnus d’Asie’ qui trace les mouvements autonomes d’Indonésie à la Corée à notre époque.

Militants grèques du collectif culturel/politique anarchiste

Void Network, Tasos Sagris (co-éditeur de l’anthologie “Nous sommes une image d’avenir: la révolte grèque de décembre 2008”) et Sissy Doutsiou (poète, actrice, activiste culturelle) parleront des projets sociaux qui sont montés depuis les ‘mouvements des places Occupy’ de toute la Grèce en 2011 et expliquront les méthodologies de l’actuelle insurrection sociale contre la crise économique et l’apparat politique en Grèce.

Richard Greeman,traducteur et biographe de Victor Serge, milite aux mouvements sociaux depuis 1957 aux Etats-Unis (où il a travaillé avec Raya Dunayevskaya), en France (où il était à Socialisme ou Barbarie) et en Russie (où il a participé à la création du Centre Praxis en 1997). Il expliquera son ‘Hypothèse d’Archimède moderne’ qui conjuge le ‘levier’ de la solidarité internationale avec le ‘point d’appui’ de la conscience planétaire et le ‘plateforme’ de la Toile afin de ‘soulever le monde’ qui sombre dans la barbarie capitaliste.

Harry Halpin, militant anti-capitaliste et scientifique des technologies de l’Internet des Etats-Unis ouvrira les débats de la soirée sur les possibilités futures et visions révolutionnaires en proposant des idées et s’interrogeant sur de nouvelles practiques et stratégies innovantes dans les mouvements anti-capitalistes post-marxistes et anarchistes contemporains. 

On fera un apéro participatif avant l’évènement: vous pouvez apporter frommage, pâté, saucisse, olives, pain, vin etc.

The event investigates strategy, practices, theory from 21st Century's global uprisings and tries to offers answers about the possible directions of the movements after Global Occupy uprisings of 2011. In English, with French translation.

George Katsiaficas, student of Herbert Marcuse and historian of social movements will explain his work on the "Eros Effect", the power that brings people together to fight against the powers of "Thanatos" (Death) and share with us experiences and understandings from the social uprisings in his new book on "Asia's Unknown Uprisings" that traces autonomous movements from Indonesia to Korea to our own time.

Void Network from Greece, Tasos Sagris, co-editor of the  book "We Are an Image from The Future / The Greek Revolt of Dec. 2008" (AK Press, 2010) and poet, actress and cultural activist Sissy Doutsiou will speak about the social projects that arrose after the 2011 Occupy "movement of the squares" all over Greece and explain methodologies of on going social insurrection in Greece against economic crises and the poltical aparatus.

Richard Greeman, translator and biographer of Victor Serge, has been active since 1957 in civil rights, anti-war, anti-nuke, environmental and labor struggles in the U.S. (where he worked with Raya Dunayevskaya), France (where he was a member of Socialisme ou Barbarie) and Russia (where he helped found the Praxis Research and Education Center in 1997). He will explain his ‘Modern Archimedes Hypothesis’, which brings together the ‘lever’ of international solidarity, the ‘fulcrum’ of planetary consciousness and the ‘platform’ of the Internet to ‘lift the world’ out of capitalist barbarism.

Harry Halpin, anticapitalist activist and internet technologies scientist from U.S.A., will open the following public dialogue of the night about the future possibilities and revolutionary visions, proposing ideas and investigating new practices and innovative strategies in the global anticapitalist, post-marxist and anarchist movements of our times.

The event will be preceded by a potluck ‘apéro.’ Wine, cheese, pâté, sausage, olives, bread etc  welcome.
