John Peel - Desert Island Discs

Morning all. while going through various hard drives and dvds this morning looking for vols 1+2 of the joe strummer 5 night stand(which i still havent found!!) i found this little gem. its a podcast version of john peels day on D.I.D which was originally broadcast in 1990.its about 40 mins long and is a great listen for fans of Mr. Peel. Unfortunately it doesnt include full versions of the tracks he chose but its still a great listen.so please listen,enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

A Request for Help!

Evening all. I have a request for help from anyone living in Ireland who has access to BBC One N.I. Why you ask? Well on Monday night the 21st January the station is showing an hour long documentary of the undertones entitled "Teenage Kicks:The Story of The Undertones". Its on at 22.35 and it sounds like its great. Here is what the BBC website says about it BBC_Undertones. So if anyone could possibly record it and possibly send me a link to it or i can send them blank dvds or something in exchange or a dvd of a band from my collection that would be brilliant. I really want to see this documentary so any help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks very much!

The Undertones - Green Rock 1979

Ok for the first post of 2012 (and actually technically the 5th year of the blog!!sort of!) we have this footage of the undertones on an irish tv show called Green Rock from 1979.the footage is probably a video of a video etc etc but is definitely watchable and very listenable.this post comes courtesy of my good mate cesar in sunny santiago.gracias amigo!anyway please watch,enjoy and leave a comment.

good evening ladies and gentlemen.inspired by a recent posting by mike over at 'the upsetter 1969' http://blogaddressnotavailable2.blogspot.com/ i present you with this BBC radio6 tribute presented by jarvis cocker.it has interviews with everyone from the undertones to billy bragg to robert plant and conversation with john peel himself,excerpts from some of his radio shows where he plays things at the wrong speed and lots of other peel related goodies.its in one big mp3 podcasty kind of thing ( and lasts about an hour)and if like me you are a fan of mr. peel then you should have this.a wonderful warm and often very funny tribute to the late great J.P.play this loud,enjoy,remember the great man and then leave a comment.thanks!

That Petrol Emotion - Peel Sessions
