The Ramones - Barbarellas 1977

this re-post is one recorded by the Ramones at the legendary Barbarellas club in may 1977.i was told this was a soundboard recording but on further listening im thinking it isn't but probably a very good audience recording.anyway, its a great early UK show from da brudders ramone and one that's going straight on the eyepodd when i can find the cable for connecting it to the computer.anyways you all know the score when it comes to Ramones shows and this one doesn't disappoint.so please listen, enjoy and then as a new years resolution leave a comment.thanks!

The Drones - Peel session e.p

continuing the peel related reposts is this session from the drones.they started life as a manchester pub rock band in 1975 but by 1977 had reinvented themselves as a punk band.they moved to london playing at the legendary roxy club in covent garden.they also played a lot of gigs with the likes of xray spex, the vibrators and the stranglers.in december(?) of 1977 they recorded this 4 track session for mr peel at the bbc studios.i really like their storming version of the ronettes 'be my baby' which is included here.so at your next pogotastic punk party remember to play this session.enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

The Clash - Harlesden Calling 1977 Repost

a great live show from the clash recorded at the colliseum in harlesden, london in march of '77.a chaotic gig with several false starts/power failures etc and with joe shouting ' hey mick whats going on?who pulled the plug out?"or words to that effect.anyway according to the good folks at www.blackmarketclash.com a slightly longer version of this exists but with the possibility that several of these extra tracks maybe came from another show.its definitely a very listenable show and a lot better sound than other shows i have from this era of the band.so i hope you listen, enjoy and then leave a comment on it.thanks!

The Clash - Swindon Remote Control

i love these show from the 'white riot tour'.a great blast from punks glorious past.a lot of people may not like them because of what they consider inferior sound but this for me is what gives it a bit of soul.anyway enough nonsense from me here is what www.blackmarketclash.com had to say about this gig.by the way if you even have only a passing interest in the clash you should definitely check out this site for a wealth of information on the band.anyway over to them:
"This is a decent audience recording which captures the primitive but charged sound and equipment of the White Riot Tour very well. It is from the master but suffers some tape drop-out problems. There is good clarity with little distortion. All the instrumentation comes through well particularly Paul’s bass. Vocals are the weakest aspect, being distant but not very poor. This together with the limited range of sound makes it, in terms of other recordings from this tour, on a par with Plymouth, which has better vocals but significant distortion."
so you get the idea!so now its time to listen, enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!
