Most prescribed medications can be taken by mouth. However, there are some medications that must be administered via injection either into the muscle or fatty tissue in the body. While most of these can be self-administered at home, sometimes it is required (or more comfortable) to have a healthcare provider administer these for you. The Little Clinic can provide injections of patient-supplied home medications at all locations after a consultation and examination by one of our Board-Certified Healthcare Providers. A PPD skin test is often used for persons in high exposure occupations, such as healthcare, to catch any infections before they become severe or communicable to others. The medication is administered into the skin typically on the lower forearm and reviewed by a healthcare provider 48-72 hours after administration to assess for any localized reaction.

Tools & Resources

Vaccines

Your health and safety are our priority, that’s why we’re here to help you and your family stay up to date on your vaccinations. We offer the tools and resources you need to ensure you and your loved ones are protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.

How Do Vaccines Work?

In short: vaccines help you develop immunity without getting sick first. Vaccines teach your immune system to create proteins, known as antibodies, which protect you from possible future infections against certain disease-causing organisms. If you’ve been vaccinated against a virus and are later exposed to that virus, your immune system will remember how to produce the antibodies needed to protect you. Vaccines are your best shot at staying healthy from vaccine-preventable illnesses.
