The Jam

I'm in London all day tomorrow namely The Globe pub in Baker Street for the best part of the afternoon, then on to Wembley for Chelsea vs Aston Villa FA Cup semi final and then probably up west for an all night piss up after just missing the last train back to Plymouth just like last year. No doubt we'll end up in some Soho chinese curry house around the 5am mark or whatever. What has all this got to do with this post you may ask? Absolutely nothing of course - just making my excuses for posting nothing over the weekend!

Anyway these little clips of The Jam are best viewed on Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player just like the Professionals post as they are old Mpeg format.

First up is a little 16 minute mini documentary from British TV. A bit of an overview really entitled A Time And A Place. Includes the Jam's last live UK TV appearance.

Next up a 12 minute clip from Swedish TV from 1981. A couple of songs (Absolute Beginners & Tales From A Riverbank)a Paul Weller interview and Funeral Pyre to end with.

Then finally 21 minutes of live footage from Newcastle probably from either 1979 or 1980. Songs are Going Underground,Pretty Green,Eton Rifles,To Be Someone,A Bomb In Wardour Street,David Watts & Boy About Town.

The Jam - Just Who Is The 5 O'Clock Hero 7'' (1982)

I always think of this one as the "forgotten" Jam single. Not sure why but if I remember rightly this single wasn't on the original "Snap! Jam singles. Maybe thats the reason (or maybe I'm just waffling as usual) The English Polydor release of this has an extra track on it (War) but this is the German Polydor release so its only got the two songs on it.

Tracks

1) Just Who Is The 5 O'Clock Hero
2) The Great Depression
