A year or two back they changed the lights on Elizabeth St where it crosses Martin Place to very pedestrian-friendly wait times. The past week or so it has gotten much longer again.
Yeah last week it was 20 seconds each direction - I feel like its doubled now and most of the cycle is spent with no cars waiting but heaps of pedestrains

Heaps of free parking on the southern side of parramatta road. It's all "special event parking" but they never enact it (even during the easter show).
About a 10 minute walk - and there's a servo on the way too.
