INSPIRED BY... (2020)

VARIOUS - ELO-ISH (2020)
Over the last 14 years, i guess that you have an idea of who were / are my favorite artists. Most of them have had their homages here on PPC with the "-esque" collections. And while compiling the latest "Glam & Glitter" collection, i thought about Jeff Lynne and his influence on Power Pop either with The Move, ELO or The Idle Race.

I bought the first Electric Light Orchestra back in 1971 and since then i've purchased every album released by ELO and Jeff Lynne (except Xanadu!!), later buying the first two wonderful albums by The Idle Race when they were really cheap to buy.

So, as you may see the custom front artwork made for this compilation, the theme is "ELO-ISH" or "Music Inspired by the genius of Jeff Lynne". Of course, Jeff Lynne is not involved in any of the songs you'll listen. Only originals, nothing produced by Jeff Lynne. A labour of love by all the artists featured here and it even includes an homage to The Idle Race faithfully made by Pugwash.

VARIOUS - GLAM & GLITTER (2020)
The Golden Age of "Glam and Glitter" started in 1970 with T.Rex and his revolutionary "Ride A White Swan". Then came Slade, Sweet, Gary Glitter, Suzi Quatro and lesser known acts as The Jook. Many compilations of the genre have been released over the years. As a matter of fact, Glitter Rock was probably the first rock & roll awakening of the 70's, and by 1976, punk was already there with Marc Bolan as his Godfather.

So, instead of making another collection of vintage Glam Rock numbers, i've compiled 25 songs / bands from the last 30 years for some kind of a tribute to the Glam and Glitter era. Some of you will hear some Bolan / Slade / Sweet homages, and they will be right. Only one cover has been included, just because it sounded more Glitter than the Kim Fowley original. And, just for info, no hyper-hairsprayed acts are featured here, only some good old shoutin', stompin' anthems. 100% real Glam guaranteed.
