To be clear I am against abortion in pretty much every case where it isn't a medical necessity etc but I am in favour of legal abortion because that is my system of political belief.

I don't recognise conception as the point at which a human being with legal rights is created and the rights of the pregnant woman wholly supersede that of the embryo/foetus up until a certain point. While I might despise someone's choice I think that is their prerogative.

Make no mistake about my own personal belief on the subject - I think it is terrible that someone can flippantly create life and then throw it away, especially when there are people that struggle to conceive and would love to carry a child to term. I will never count people that go down that path to remedy their own carelessness among my friends or those that I respect.

I just can't reconcile politics with morals in cases because I have always staunchly believed in small government with minimal intervention in people's lives and what they choose to do. I tend to not think about those who I consider to be at odds with my morals because I recognise their legal right to complete autonomy.
