I'm telling you, literally no one is buying disposible clothes. Even the 1% in west don't just dispose off their clothes. What they do is instead of buying a normal shirt for £50, they buy designer wear or custom made shirts that cost in the hundreds and sometimes thousands each. But those shirts are definitely being reused.

Now if you are going to change the goalposts and say that top 1% is not rich and you are talking about top 1% of the 1%, you would be wrong even there.

Queen Elizabeth II have on multiple occasions wore gowns and other articles of wear belonging to Queen Victoria. The Duchess of Sussex have on multiple occasions been seen wearing clothes that belonged to Queen Elizabeth the first and other Royals.

There are even laundry services that cater exclusively to a wealthy clientele.

OP thinks they buy a shirt and use it for a few days with care but never washing it. And once it gets dirty, they discard it rather than washing it and reusing it.

Obviously elites aren't going to Itwaar Bazaar for their shopping, but atleast in my circle atleast, it has become sort of trendy to go thrifting etc among young upper-middle class folks.

It's also abit brag worthy lately if you get great deals while thrifting.

The issue with her statement is the order of the events. She says people started using VPNs out of the blue which caused the increased international traffic which resulted in reduced speeds. But in reality, the government restricted access to many social media sites, which in turn forced people to use VPNs, which then increased the bandwidth requirement. The end result is that even non-social media sites are slow to work on now.

Yeah the Islamic inheritance system is rather complicated. I am familiar with just the basics.

The deceased wife, if she has no children will receive 1/4th of the inheritance. If she does have children then she will recieve 1/8th of the inheritance. If the deceased has more than one wife, then the 1/8th or 1/4th (depending on whether she has children or not) is distributed equally among the wives.

The rest is then distributed among the children. The distribution is made such that a Son's share is twice that of the daughter. To calculate this, a pool of shares is first calculated. The formula for this is number of shares= number of daughters x 1 + number of sons x 2. The leftover inheritance is then devided by the number of total shares.

Each daughter then gets one share from the pool and each son two.

I'm not familiar with more complicated scenarios such as when one wife has children while the other does not.

For the individuals your figures are only correct if there is only one daughter and one Son. In any other case, they would be wrong. In OPs case, the children total 5, so your ratios couldn't be correct.

The math is simple but I believe your ratios are wrong. Sons don't get 2/3rds of the property, but rather their share of inheritance is twice that of a daughter.

So in a scenario with 5 children like the one above, let's suppose he has 2 sons and 3 daughters. The inheritance left after wife gets her 1/8th will be split into 7 parts (2 sons x 2 + 3 daughters x 1). Then each son will get two parts and each daughter will get one part.

Overall, in this scenario the sons will get 4/7th of the leftover inheritance and the daughters will get 3/7th of it. This ofcourse would change if the composition of sons and daughters changes.
