Important changes to Bitcoin SV (BSV)

We regularly review the crypto we offer on Robinhood. Based on our latest review, we’ve decided to end support for Bitcoin SV (BSV) on January 25, 2023 at 6:59 PM ET.No other coins on Robinhood are affected by this change, and your crypto is still safe on Robinhood.You can continue to buy, sell, send and hold BSV until the deadline.

After the deadline, any BSV still in your Robinhood Crypto account will be sold for market value. The proceeds will be credited to your Robinhood buying power.If you don’t want your BSV automatically sold, here are your options:

• You can sell your BSV for cash

• You can transfer your BSV to a wallet or other platform that supports BSV

Whichever option you choose, just make sure you act before January 25, 2023 at 6:59 PM ET.

The main reason is that I didn't like the lies about the Tulip Trust. Especially by the fact that even the judge didn't even believe a single word of his story. I also didn't like the fact that cryptorebel/calvin retweeted murphy's tweet (bitconnect dude). I also don't like the fact that the subreddit is in extreme moderation.

I have received XX BSV from Coinbase on 2/12/2019 as part of the BCH hard fork. I know that Coinbase does not support BSV but allows to send it out of Coinbase. I am trying to send my XX BSV from Coinbase to my external wallet but getting "Sending Bitcoin SV is temporary disabled" error. Is there a way to find out when Coinbase will re-enable sending BSV out of Coinbase?

Will Bitcoin Association be enforcing the Software Suite?

Apart from releasing the software, the Bitcoin Association will have no role in installing or implementing it ourselves. The burden of deciding on whether to install the version of the Bitcoin SV Node software containing features allowing to freeze transaction outputs as well as to act on court orders will be entirely left up to the miners of the network, as outlined in the original Bitcoin Whitepaper.

Will this affect the security and functional model of BSV?

No, the software described by the settlement would simply enable miners to receive court decisions securely, and act upon them if they choose to do so. The blockchain will continue to use Nakamoto Consensus to extend the blockchain, as it always has, and always will.

This software is a similar implementation of the introduced by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2010. The alert system was used by trusted parties to communicate messages to nodes in the network. These messages could be acted upon or ignored by nodes in the network as needed.

So there we have it, it will apparently be completely optional to follow these orders seemingly regardless of jurisdiction, as long as you maintain the chain with the most work.

I fear that BSV is going to actually die a lot sooner than I ever thought. How will any exchange continue to support this, or who would even attempt to build on a chain that is arbitrarily subject to spontaneous and ongoing chain split. Even proof of twitter consensus won't help here..

BSV is going through a massive 51% attack.

After an attempted attack yesterday, some serious hashing power was unleashed today at 11:46AM and attackers are succeeding.

Over a dozen blocks are being reorgd & up to 3 versions of the chain being mined simultaneously across pools.

Someone is seriously trying to destroy BSV.

For over 3 hours, attackers were able to take over the chain. All exchanges that received BSV deposits during that time might have been double spent.

It's unclear if the attack has ended, or if the attacker is just taking a break.
