RADICAL FIASCOS: THE FIRST IN A SERIES

As any truth telling anarchist will tell you – they have been involved in more fiascos than  achievements ( think Hampstead Bash the rich). An early  harbingerof doom was a meeting in Cardiff circa 1970.  I was active in the  SWANSEA SOLIDARITY GROUP  part of the Chris Pallas/ Ken Weller franchise.The London comrades – JOE JACOBS, ARNOLD FELDMAN – had a habit of turning up at my house – 18 Windsor Street, Uplands, swansea – with all sorts of exotic revolutionaries who ‘ wanted to talk’ – all fucking night!! However there was also the exciting possibility (build the party comrades) of a CARDIFF SOLIDARITY GROUP  coming out of the ashes of the SEVERNSIDE ANARCHIST ALLIANCE (dont ask!). Anyway comrade Pallas informed that  comrade CARDAN( for it is he – aks CORNELIUS CASTORIADIS) was visiting the UK  and wanted to visit some regional Solidarity groups. How better than to let the Cardiff comrades kick start their group than to organise the meeting with our superstar? On a rainy night  I made my way to the – forgotten – but appointed pub venue.It was heaving with the proletarian milieu. Comrade Pallas beckoned me to an introduction. Time to go upstairs beckoned Cardiff Solidarity. The proletarian mileu was in full flow. Unfortunately – double booked with the pub Darts team AGM. Self – Management never seemed quite the same again.
