TOTAL FREEDOM GLOBAL FESTIVAL is an international artistic, political and philosophical event organized by Void Network (est. 1990 Athens, London, New York)
as a situation of the world tour that the collective is making in collaboration with many other collectives such as the multi media activists Global Eye(England), the anarchist writers and publishers Crimethinc (U.S.A.), the psychedelic lecturers Alice-Project (Germany), the rave nomadic ecologists Celtic Heritage Trust (Wales) the drum 'n bass arterrorists Funxion and many different visionary music groups and collectives.

In a period of destruction of Earth, confusion and general social apathy it seems that appears a new resistance movement, a wave of people and collectives that is ready to search for new ways to think and act, ready to share information, knowledge and inspiration, to spread enthusiasm and skepticism in a world of misery, exploitation and consumption.

Based on spiritual and active friendship, free source sharing, collaboration, mutual aid, open networking, negation of employment and nuclear family ,
all these collectives manifest glimpses of a 21^st century Autonomy, shines of neoanarchism, hopes of a human uprising against the machine.
Combining multi media, music, visual arts, political analysis, an attitude of life and a philosophy of existence they offer us an opportunity to think again from the beginning the problem of modern life and the causes of this problem. But also…more than anything else they offer us an open personal and collective invitation to think and act together. 'Cause nobody will ever fight for us in our place…We have to do it and we have to do it Now!

The primal right of the human being is the right to imagination.
Those who do not imagine mutilate the most creative part of their body.
It is much easier to think logically than to imagine, because reasoning is repetition while imagination is creation. In a world that is continuously altered, only those who create (and those who destroy) feel comfortably… Those who repeat feel dizziness in front of the change. The substance of reality is the change and the change is energy, activity, information, knowledge, action, Love and Eternal Joy. Rationalistic thought does not offer joy, because rationalism is anti-erotic and hieroglyphic.
Reasoning is a tik-tak that encourages mind to be lingering as a pendulum in innumerable individual questions. With reasoning you make the tour of the world in eighty days, with imagination in one day you travel to eighty worlds. Everyone have to choose his own traveling, without however trying to impose the airplane of Newton in the place of the magic carpet. Let's use our mind in order to create on top of what we see the realized vision of what we could live......

VOID HISTORY / event report
About 900 people helped us to squat the Athens Polytechnic University Campus and participated in the AMBIENTRANCEDELICA No 72 Temporary Autonomous Zone. This parties started happening in 1992 and maybe is the longest running rave parties in Europe. All we the Void Network cultural activists (students and non students) we squatted the Athens Polytechnic university campus area as the president and the teachers following the "necropolis-university" new european trend refusing to give permission for our event. In all europe the authorities and the elites of education try to destroy the social role of the universities for open expression and youth autonomous self organized cultural and political work as they know (even better than the activists) that the university campus can be used as a cell of new ideas, new cultures and collective empowerment of negation of the modern authoritarian social control and of the general social apathy and stupidity. For this reason they try to control the conditions, to close the universities and allow strictly students inside that will have the right only in the building of their career, they try to do not allow political or self organized cultural collectives to work in the university, to push the activists outside, to make all students feeling like in school (controlled, obeying, running from class to class for a career in a controlled environment, loosing all life running in a pseudo-dream). The underground movement of the trance and techno scene refusing to obey to this plan and that's why many different collectives organizing many interesting underground parties in Athens universities almost every week. We made this party in the middle of the winter in the garage of the campus (half open air/half protected) and that's why "only" 900 people took the chance to come (most of the times this spring-summer-autumn parties gather from 2000 up to 6000 people). Cultural Activists from Void Network decorated all area with stencils that was writing "With Logic you go around the world in 80 days / With Fantasy you travel to 80 worlds in a day!", as also "Psychedelia" and circles of pink hearts and void symbols everywhere! We played our multi media Void Art shows for all night in our big screen and we made a great great fire for all people feeling nice and hot and for all crazy people dancing around a big fire in the middle of the winter in the middle of the city! All djs of the night as also all multi media artists and cultural activists shared their non-employed, non-payed work with all people. D.J. Sissy Stardust started the night with a 2 and a half hours psychedelic ambient set followed by a warm up prog-trance set from Benny Lava and a melodic full on set by Hypno. D.J. Nikitas and D.j. Leandros explode the party with their wonderful set of new style european trance, Iraklis Mindphaser proved that he is one of the best d.j.s in Athens and Omegahertz played a great neo-goa live concert. Dj Dimitrio, D.j. Crystal Zero and Vertigo took care the people's dancing until 10.30 in the morning with trance explosives. It was a fantastic night!

FREE RAVE PARTIES AND FESTIVALS?YES!...but MADE BY WHO and WHEN and HOW?

Dear friends, From 1990 that we made the first free rave parties and underground festivals until now there are existing commercial organizers and people with political-governmental or financial interests that they try to describe this parties/festivals as “second class”, as problematic and dangerous, as “destruction for the scene or for the universities or for the democratic asylum” and “not real parties”or "not real arts". The reason for this logic to appear again and again is obvious: there are a lot of money in the “club market” and somehow this market has to be protected as a myth and as a concept.There is also great power in the governing of culture and "art market" of this society and the conservatives don't want to loose control by just simply allowing the new to appear... For us this was never a problem (anyway this is very old story…and most of our old “enemies” that was spreading all this bad rumors are to their houses now…Rest in Peace…). We appreciate and we observe the “club culture” ‘cause many people seem to like it, many beautiful nights happened in clubs also and “club culture”, "art centers", "galleries" e.t.c. can play a progressive role also according to their own limitations (bouzouki culture club owners that collect all our money for themselves making bullshit mountains with them, security macho staff, super ego party organizers, crap music and sound for 30euro, 10euro for a bottle of water, impossible to get drunk with you pocket money and freak out paranoia if you take any psychedelic substance…anyway…why not?...clubs have to continue existing also…if the people continue pay and enjoy...and sometimes is even good…!) . But we know for good that the Underground Free Events is the real collective platform for the expression of arts and ideas, we know that all art scenes in the world is based on the underground free scene for existing, evolving , manifest and test new styles, new artists and new trends, we know for good that the underground scene will never finish and will become better and better in the future (as we know also that the underground is anyway the field that will appear all interesting trends which in the near future capitalism will use for making money again and again in “luxury” clubs and “high life” business).All these things they getting rotten anyway again and again in a society dead in apathy and general stupidity. This is no problem…we know it from the 60’s until now… The efforts of the underground has to be always to offer better artistic quality, new styles and much more beautiful atmosphere than the “commercial scene” and to manifest original force from the heart and not from the pocket for to gather thousands of people having great time, coming to the Utopian Atmosphere, getting new ideas and transform their selves according to their needs and wishes! There are some things that we like and some things that we don’t like in the parties of Polutexnioupoli but we don’t want to play the role of the “old one” for to judge and criticize the efforts of the underground teems. We are sure that everyone tries his best to offer the best according to his aesthetic criterion and his powers (keep your good efforts alive!) But we will use this opportunity to clarify some things we want in the future to exist and get better and some things we want to try all together to make them a bad memory for the underground events.
WHAT WE WANT:
1. WE WANT GROUPS OF CREATIVE FRIENDS THAT THEY LOVE AND TRUST EACH OTHER, COMPANIES OF FRIENDS TO FIGHT AGAINST CAPITALISTIC COMPANIES WITH THE POWER OF THEIR DREAMS AND THEIR WISHES. WITH OUR SMALL POWERS WE ARE BUILDING UTOPIA! WE WANT THE PARTIES TO BE ORGANIZED BY ARTISTS AND FRIENDS AND NOT BY INVESTORS, WE WANT THE FESTIVALS TO BE ORGANIZED BY COMPANIES OF FRIENDS AND NOT BY MANAGERS, TO BE ORGANIZED FOR FUN AND NOT FOR MONEY, NOBODY TO GET PAID FOR TO PLAY OR FOR HELPING IN THE BAR OR FOR THE PRODUCTION OR FOR MAKING THE FLYER DESIGN OR FOR GIVING THE FLYERS AROUND. WE WANT TO SEE THE OPEN PARTICIPATORY ATTITUDE AND THE FREE OPEN DISTRIBUTION OF MYSPACE.COM TO APPEAR ALIVE IN SKIN AND BONES IN THE STREETS, THE SQUARES, THE UNIVERSITIES AND THE ABOUNDED URBAN BUILDINGS OF THE CITIES! WE WANT EVERYBODY THAT IS ORGANIZING THE EVENT TO COME THERE WITH EMPTY POCKETS AND GOING AWAY WITH EMPTY POCKETS (that’s how Void Network survived for all those years/that’s why we are still friends to each other/ that’s why we get better and better/WHEN WE HAVE ANY SMALL “PROFIT” FROM THE PARTY WE KEEP IT IN A GENERAL BOX AND WE SPEND IT TO THE NEXT EVENT SO WE BECOME BETTER AND BETTER…nobody gets paid cause all of it is based on completely different intention like pleasure, erotic love and friendship for example…or like the dream of a global revolution and liberation from the prison of modern metropolitan death culture! It's simple and it works good! It is chaotic non employed/non profit economics/ It’s extra cool space out collective life! WE WANT TO SEE PURE LOVE, PEOPLE TO EXPRESS THEIR OPEN HEARTED LOVE TO EACH OTHER, TO SEE ALL PEOPLE HELPING CLEANING THE PLACE GOOD AND BE CAREFUL ALL NIGHT LONG FOR NOTHING BAD TO HAPPEN, TO HELP ALL TOGETHER THE FIGHTS OR THE DESTRUCTIONS TO STOP LIKE THE PARTY HAPPENING IN THEIR OWN HOUSE…WE WANT TO SEE PURE LOVE, EROTIC COUPLES MAKING LOVE OPENLY, NAKED PEOPLE FEEL FREE TO DANCE WITH EVERYBODY, CRAZY HAPPY GIRLS AND BOYS HAVING THE BEST NIGHT OF THEIR LIFE…WE WANT TO SEE A COLLECTIVE AMAZING SPACE-OUT EXPERIENCE TO HAPPEN FROM ALL TO ALL!.WE WANT TO BE TRANSFORMED THROUGH THIS PARTIES …AND WE WANT TO CHANGE FOR GOOD!

WE WANT TO SEE ALL PEOPLE PARTICIPATE AND HELP FOR ALL THESE TO NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN! and the only way for this to never happen again it is not fights and misery…IS YOUR HELP, GOOD HEART HAPPINESS, PURE LOVE, OPEN AWARENESS AND COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS! Αγαπητοί φίλοι,
από το 1990 που κάναμε τα πρώτα free rave party και τα underground φεστιβάλ μέχρι τώρα υπάρχουν πολλοί εμπορικοί διοργανωτές και άνθρωποι με διάφορα κυβερνητικά και οικονομικά συμφέροντα που προσπαθούν να περιγράψουν αυτά τα παρτυ και τα φεστιβάλ ως "δεύτερης κατηγορίας", ως προβληματικά και επικίνδυνα, ως "καταστροφή για τη καλλιτεχνική σκηνή ή για τα πανεπιστήμια ή για το δημοκρατικό άσυλο"
και ως "μη πραγματική τέχνη".
Ο λόγος για να εμφανίζεται επανειλημμένως αυτή η λογική είναι προφανής:υπάρχουν
πολλά χρήματα στη "αγορά της τέχνης " και στο "club market" και κάπως αυτή η αγορά πρέπει να προστατευθεί ως μύθος και ως έννοια. Επίσης υπάρχει πολύ δύναμη κρυμένη μέσα στην διαχείρηση της κουλτούρας και του πολιτισμού και κάπως η συντήρηση πρέπει να διατηρεί τα κεκετημένα...Για μας αυτό δεν ήταν ποτέ ένα σπουδαίο πρόβλημα (ούτως ή άλλως αυτή είναι μια πάρα πολύ «παλαιά ιστορία»... και οι περισσότεροι από τους παλαιούς «εχθρούς μας» που διέδιδαν όλες αυτές τις κακές φήμες είναι πλέον στα σπίτια
τους...και αναπάβονται εν ειρήνη...σύντομα ελπίζουμε το ίδιο και για τους εναπομείναντες). Εκτιμάμε την “club culture" και τους «χώρους της τέχνης» μιας και οι άνθρωποι φαίνονται ευχαριστημένοι, πολλές όμορφες νύχτες επίσης συνέβησαν σε κάποια clubs ως τώρα. Το "club culture" (όπως και άλλοι "πολυ-χώροι τέχνης") μπορεί να διαδραματίσουν έναν προοδευτικό ρόλο ανάλογα πάντα με τους περιορισμούς τους (οι bouzouki culture ιδιοκτήτες διαφόρων «πολυ-χώρων τέχνης», γκαλερί και clubs που συλλέγουν όλα τα χρήματα μας και τα συσωρεύουν στα bullshit βουνά τους, το φαλλοκρατικό προσωπικό ασφάλειας, οι super ego «εξέχοντες» διοργανωτές και οι δημοσιογράφοι, η αηδία μουσική και ο κακός ήχος για 30-60-150euro, 10euro για ένα μπουκαλάκι νερό, αδύνατο να μεθύσεις με τα λεφτά που έχεις στο παντελόνι σου και αυτή η φρικτή παράνοια εάν έχεις πάρει οποιαδήποτε psychedelic ουσία...
οπωσδήποτε... γιατί όχι...αφού ο κόσμος το αποδέχεται, το πληρώνει και το επιβραβεύει...και τα clubs και οι διάφοροι πολυ-χώροι της τέχνης και των γραμμάτων πρέπει να συνεχίσουν επίσης να υπάρχουν... και είναι μερικές φορές ακόμα και καλά εκεί...!) .
Αλλά ξέρουμε πολύ καλά ότι τα underground ελεύθερα γεγονότα είναι η πραγματική συλλογική πλατφόρμα για την έκφραση των τεχνών και των ιδεών, ξέρουμε ότι όλες οι σκηνές τέχνης στον κόσμο είναι βασισμένες στην υπόγεια ελεύθερη σκηνή για την ύπαρξη τους, για να εξελιχθούν, για να εμφανίσουν και να εξετάσουν τις νέες μορφές, τους νέους καλλιτέχνες και τις νέες τάσεις, ξέρουμε πολύ καλά ότι η υπόγεια σκηνή δεν εξαντλήται ποτέ και θα γίνει καλύτερη και καλύτερη στο μέλλον (δεδομένου βέβαια ότι είναι ακριβώς εκεί, οπωσδήποτε ξεχωριστά στον κάθε τομέα, που εμφανίζεται κάθε νέα τάση η οποία στο εγγύς μέλλον θα χρησιμοποιηθεί από το κεφάλαιο σαν νέα αγορά για να βγουν εκατομύρια στα clubs, τις γκαλερύ και τις "high life" business πολυτελείας). Όλα αυτα δεν
είναι πρόβλημα για εμάς, σαπίζουν κάθε φορά από την αρχή ως το τέλος τους μαζί με ένα κόσμο σε γενικευμένη αποβλάκωση.

Οι προσπάθειες του underground πρέπει να είναι πάντα να προσφερθεί πολύ καλύτερη καλλιτεχνική ποιότητα, συνεχώς νέες μορφές και πολύ ομορφότερη ατμόσφαιρα από τη "εμπορική σκηνή" και να φανερώνεται η αρχική δύναμη μέσα από την καρδιά και όχι από την τσέπη για να έλκωνται χιλιάδες άνθρωποι που θα πλευρίσουν και θα περιπλανηθούν στις Ουτοπικές Ατμόσφαιρες και θα έχουν μια εξαιρετική
εμπειρία που θα τους αλλάξει ή θα τους ωθήσει προς μια δικιά τους, προσωπική συνειδητοποίηση!

Υπάρχουν μερικά πράγματα που συμπαθούμε και μερικά πράγματα που δεν συμπαθούμε στα free rave parties και στα underground φέστιβαλς που διοργανώνονται από πολλούς στην Πολυτεχνειούπολη, το Πολυτεχνείο, τα Τ.Ε.Ι. και άλλους πανεπιστημιακούς ή δημόσιους ή ανεξάρτητους χώρους αλλά δεν θέλουμε να διαδραματίσουμε το ρόλο του "παλιού" και του αποτιμητή που θα κρίνει και θα
επικρίνει τις προσπάθειες των υπόγειων ομάδων, των συγκροτημάτων και των δημιουργικών ευαίσθητων ανθρώπων. Είμαστε βέβαιοι ότι ο καθένας δοκιμάζει το καλύτερό εαυτό του για να προσφέρει το καλύτερο σύμφωνα με το αισθητικό του κριτήριό και τις δυνάμεις του (κρατήστε τις καλές προσπάθειες σας ζωντανές!)

Αλλά θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε αυτήν την ευκαιρία για να διευκρινίσουμε μερικά μόνο πράγματα που θέλουμε στο μέλλον να υπάρχουν και να γίνουν καλύτερα και μερικά πράγματα που θέλουμε να δοκιμάσουμε όλοι μαζί να τα κάνουμε μια κακή ανάμνηση για τα υπόγεια γεγονότα.

The primal right of the human being is the right to imagination.
Those that do not imagine mutilate the most creative part of their body.
It is much easier to think logically than to imagine,
because the reasoning is repetition while the imagination is creation.
In a world that is continuously altered, only those that create
(and those that destroy) feel comfortably…
Those that repeat feel dizziness in front of the change.
The substance of reality is the change and the change is energy,
activity, information, knowledge, action, Love and Eternal Joy.
The rationalistic thought does not offer joy,
because the rationalism is anti-erotic and hieroglyphic.
The reasoning is a tik-tak that encourages mind to be lingering
as a pendulum in innumerable individual questions.
With reasoning you make the tour of the world in eighty days,
with imagination in one day you travel to eighty worlds.
Everyone have to choose his own traveling,
without however trying to impose the airplane of Newton
in the place of the magic carpet.
Let’s use the mind in order to create on top of what we see
the realized vision of what we could live......



Το πρώτο δικαίωμα του ανθρώπου είναι το δικαίωμα στη φαντασία.
Αυτοί που δε φαντάζονται,
ακρωτηριάζουν το πιο δημιουργικό μέρος του σώματος.
Είναι πιο εύκολο να σκεφτόμαστε λογικά παρά να φανταζόμαστε,
γιατί ο συλλογισμός είναι επανάληψη ενώ η φαντασία είναι δημιουργία.
Σ’έναν κόσμο που αδιάκοπα μεταβάλλεται, μόνο αυτοί που δημιουργούν
(και αυτοί που καταστρέφουν) νιώθουν άνετα...
Αυτοί που επαναλαμβάνουν νιώθουν ζάλη μπροστά στη μεταβολή.
Ουσία της πραγματικότητας είναι η αλλαγή και η αλλαγή είναι ενέργεια,
δραστηριότητα , πληροφορία, γνώση, πράξη, Έρωτας και Αιώνια Χαρά
Η ρασιοναλιστική σκέψη δεν προσφέρει χαρά,
γιατί ο ρασιοναλισμός είναι αντί-ερωτικός, ιερογλυφικός.
Ο συλλογισμός είναι ένα τικ-τακ που ενθαρρύνει
το νού να μπλεχτεί σαν εκκρεμές σε αμέτρητα επιμέρους ζητήματα.
Με τους συλλογισμούς κάνεις το γύρο του κόσμου σε ογδόντα μέρες,
με την φαντασία σε μια μέρα γυρνάς ογδόντα κόσμους
Καθένας ας διαλέξει το ταξίδι του,
χωρίς όμως και να επιβάλει το αεροπλάνο του Νεύτωνα
στη θέση του μαγικού χαλιού.
Ας χρησιμοποιήσουμε το νού για να δημιουργήσουμε πάνω σε αυτό που βλέπουμε,
το πραγματωμένο όραμα αυτού που θα μπορούσαμε να ζούμε......

VOID HISTORY: event report More than 250 people came in Nosotros that night and it was for everyone of us a surprise event. After long time that we kept hidden to our rooms all this wonderful vinyl records we found ourselves experiencing the psychedelic rock sound in a loud sound system, in a public space, with all our friends...Everybody got drunk and happy and after some hour the sound itself made us really stoned. It was a great surprise for most of us used in the psychedelic trance sound to experience the arising of the psychedelic feeling in all our body through the original psychedelic rock sound! It was a positive experiment that we will try very soon to manifest in a big open area event )possibly as a second stage to the trance stage). The collective idea of this night is to try make an event that will manifest greatly all psychedelic sound experience with two stages (one psychedelic trance and one psychedelic rock stage). It must be total space out!...We will try it soon...
