Hey, just made it here because I was looking to see if anyone had noticed the similarities I had just noticed.

It might be Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder you're looking for; it sounds so much like a rip-off of Green Onions, it hard to assume it wasn't in some form. (Intentional or otherwise).

Unconventional Uses of 'Disguise Self' and the Limitations of the Spell?

Haha, I love it.

The campaign I'm in has been going for years now and we're still not even halfway, so that campaign is still going!

This feels a bit lazy, Discraft.

Uh, yeah, up until they start winning tournaments with their custom disc.

It's like those fisherman a while back who got caught adding lead weights to their catches to cheat at weigh-ins. After winning a number of tournaments with below average total numbers of fish, people started to catch on. Up until that point, no one was checking for shoving things inside fish! (And I don't know if they've started since.)

There are untold numbers of things you can get away with if you stay under the radar, but until they impact the overall outcome, probably no one will either notice or care.

I did actually run down this line of thought a little further once. One of the more interesting possibilities I came up with, is that supermassive bodies such as back holes might have impacts which extend beyond the plane we're interacting with. That or similar considerations could allow for ghosts to interact with the same forces being acted upon the planets, without necessarily being the same mechanisms which would otherwise require them to interact with walls. (In that theory though, would ghosts then also need to be commensurately dense in some form?)

Yay for random theoreticals!

... Unless, the Earth is actually the true center of the universe, and everything else is moving relative to it! Lol

Nah. If ghosts are just floating around, unaffected by gravity, then with the constant movement of the planet and solar system ... we're littering our ghosts across space.

What is this animal that was in my garage my brother said raccoon but I’m not so sure

When I was 10 or so, a family of shrews kept burrowing under our front step. My dad would fill it with expanding foam, and then they'd burrow into the foam ... it was a fued that lasted a couple seasons.

Anyway, for a while my dad had a squirrel trap set up to see if he could catch the shrews. One morning when I popped out the door to head to the bus stop, the cage was rattling something fierce. That opossum was probably trapped in there for at least 6 hours and whoo buddy was it mad! First and only time I've seen one, but it was fairly bright out and rather up close.

Trump’s obsession with Hannibal Lecter

Well, I think it's really just another sign of his ever slipping cognitive abilities. His mind is more and more often struggling to make the connections it used to, and as a result more often accidentally tying together things which aren't actually related. His internal structures for separating concepts are slowing crumbling and it'll flash itself every once in a while.

It's perfectly reasonable his brain would store 'asylum seeker' and 'insane asylum' near each other ... for example, that's the exact type of connection you might expect to see from someone experiencing 'word salad'. Similarly for him to link insane asylum and Hannibal Lector, as well as Hannibal Lector and Actor. And, what do you know, in public comments lately, he is consistently jumping between those otherwise unrelated ideas, increasingly in nonsensical ways.

I've witnessed people of every age occasionally link unrelated items, come up with an idea, and then realize it makes no sense, usually from being tired. We already know he can't cop to misspeaking, he'll just say 'and' then the originally intended thing as well, as though he always meant to say both the right and wrong thing. Often then doubling down and saying he's heard it both ways!

As such, it is also perfectly reasonable that as he weaves in and out of confusion, he'd try to play it off as intentional. His comments that make no sense, which are later undercut by him seemingly recognizing what he said before was nonsense, is bizarre until you look at it as cognitive decline.

Trump’s obsession with Hannibal Lecter

Yeah, except they aren't purging voter rolls in the backwater burgs where they're counting on getting those 'groupies' votes.

The messed up way federal elections operate, don't require an actual majority, merely majorities in enough key regions. The cynical politicians target low population density areas which are expectantly not able to afford quality education, and their propaganda is more effective. It's also less costly because they don't need to reach as many total people to reach the majority of people in the region.

It's a disingenuous swipe at power by obscuring access to accurate information.

History has shown us time and time again that humans are inherently curious, and getting between them and knowledge is not a sustainable way to maintain power, but it can be an effective way to achieve it.

Eventually these 'groupies' voting against their own interests will wise up enough to in some form overthrow the charlatans they themselves chose to instill, but unfortunately not before their choices have hurt everyone.

The key is, them existing isn't the problem on it's own, uneducated 'groupies' will always exist. "A sucker is born every minute". Them being the minority which they are, shouldn't be able to dictate policy to the majority who understand better, as they currently can.

We are but left to observe in hope and horror.

What the heck is this?!

Except, mostly not that ... The trick here is perspective based, it only works for the audience in front; anyone to the side or behind would instantly see it not as a card, but a card/watch gadget built for the trick.

The trick is to make sure everything you don't want the audience to see, happens behind what you do. That nearly 20 minute video could have just as easily been only 20 seconds and still shown you how to build such a simple device.

Hide watch behind card, flip it quickly to hide card behind watch. There's basically just the one step, get a card to fold into a smaller profile, while a watch is otherwise unrolling like it would.

Point of view of a 7’1 human

Yeah, but, I also feel like he found unusually low ceilings to film under. Like, if he's just over 7 foot, and the ceiling is that close when he looks up, that looks like a 7 1/2 foot ceiling.

Building code minimums are typically 8 foot, with 9 and 10 being extremely common.

Door frames are usually a little over 6 1/2 foot, so definitely still the same sorts of annoyances shown, but appears to be more a view of the worst it can be, than an accurate depiction of the overall reality.

I kind of doubt that.

It'd probably work, but I don't see any way to mount it, and filling it with knives would likely make it top heavy.

Seems at minimum a fairly poor design, if it was meant to be a knife block.

Apparently nothing, because though anticipated, ever to my chagrin, the content of these words have fallen entirely on deaf ears.

I wish more people could hear and understand these simple truths, but too many are too wrapped up in their own insecurities, fear, hate, greed, lust ... .

Had you understood the 'poetry and prose', you would recognize that by simply asking what specifically 'the younger generation' has accomplished toward their apparently monolithic goals, you are fundamentally misunderstanding every thing you're trying to discuss.

It's not a question worth attempting an answer, thus highlighting the lack of understanding being employed by anyone who chooses to ask it.

why do older generations think it's a flex that they don't get offended or aren't "soft"

Agreed, your opinions definitely appear to be extrapolated from anecdotal evidence, otherwise your beliefs wouldn't be as devoid of nuance. Unfortunately those reductive conclusions, while easy to arrive at due to their simplicity, lack the fidelity necessary to accurately describe the realities you're attempting to consider. The expected result is your palpable level of transparently unearned confidence while speaking on matters your anecdotal evidence is clearly too insufficient to lead toward anything other than spurious understandings.

It's frustrating to run into so many such as yourself. Your inability to understand information if it doesn't already conform to your point of view, makes it easy for you to continue to reject knowledge. You thusly continue to assume your 'correctness', which in turn inherently implies you have no need to ever learn anything new.

It's almost certainly born out in your life in a myriad of negative ways. But people of your ilk tend to externalize and create emotion based reasonings for why they're the victim, so I'm sure you've already insulated your ego from accepting the logical conclusion; you're getting in your own way.

I would hope that to be specific enough for you, but based on the level of analytical rigor you've displayed so far, I'm more likely to guess it was too specific for you to actually understand what I wish I could communicate.

"Language to the intelligent, is a blunt instrument incapable of succinctly communicating the ideas worth communicating. Language to the unintelligent, is a sea of possible ways to communicate the very few truths which are comprehendable."

Hilarious. 🤦‍♂️

It is solely your responsibility to choose to learn. Your attempt to make it the responsibility of others to overcome your personal confirmation bias, is simply your fragile ego's way of justifying protecting itself from self examination.

You can either listen with an open mind and grow by virtue of ingesting a wide range of perspectives, or you can belittle differing perspectives in order to justify your stubborn desire feel 'right'.

The latter of course will lead you to be incorrect far more often, but if all you care about is feeling superior, rather than actually being correct (as per usual with fragile egos), it's anticipated that you'd prefer to remain uneducated on other equally valid opinions.

Best of luck to you, but your flaws are showing ... .
