A Bleeding Panda Blog Guest Compilation by Bagheera Münchgstettner

What?
A perfect, twisted and scary sequel to Bagheera Münchgstettner's True Horrors Vol.01.

This is a much more skilled, precise and organised selection of dark, cold synth tracks than on the previous comp. A few scattered oddities and classics give color to this emotional wasteland but overall - there is a prevailing feeling of doom.

A deep, dark mixture of unique and very memorable tracks (some very rare) that should be all listened as a whole. A definite standout is the Yabboq Penuel's 1.05 - I only wish it was twice as long.

This selection is definitely not for everybody as it takes away a lot of attention in it's uncompromising coldness and oddness - but that's why it's interesting and exotic at the same time.

Tracklist
01 Teddy Lasry - Workmen Choir (1981)
02 Florenza Mavelli - March Of The Soviets (2009)

A Bleeding Panda Blog Guest Compilation by Bagheera Münchgstettner

What?
I am very happy to bring you True Horrors Vol 01 - the first in a series of Bagheera Münchgstettner's compilations.

Spooky, reverberated, metallic and wet it sounds like a dying promise or a that last, really bad cough that snatches away your breathe. From the energetic screams of Diamanda Galas over Rechenzentrum's barren Ahab and Hands In The Dark by Chromatics to the humorous, dancy and demented John Maus this compilation is a great intro for Bagheera's future works.

Enjoy this fine selection of bleached life and stand by for the excellent Vol. 02.

Tracklist
01 Diamanda Galas - Judgement Day (1992)
02 I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness - The Owl (2006)
03 Gus Gus - Is Jesus Your Pal (1996)

05 Rechenzentrum - Ahab (2001)
06 Chromatics - Hands In The Dark (2007)
07 Peaches - I'm The Kinda (2003)
08 Twisted Wires - The Hunted (unreleased)

Conrad Schnitzler - Ballet Statique (1992 Reissue of 1978 Con)

ARTIST`````Conrad Schnitzler
ALBUM`````Ballet Statique
GENRE`````Electronic, Experimental, Progressive, Ambient
YEAR````````1992 / 1978

Review
This is truly one of the greatest electronic albums ever made and definitely the best place to start exploring the wonderful world of Conrad Schnitzler. Electric Garden is a masterpiece of atmospherics, reverberating drips in the canyons of your mind . Overloaded harmonisers and delays build to an orgasmic rush of nitrous oxide clangs that can seriously warp your mind.

M=Minimal continues their collaboration with electronic music legend Conrad Schnitzler, and presents after 30 years, the re-release of one of the key works from Conrad's large, adventurous back catalog. Ballet Statique is not only a musical milestone but also a highlight of music production. It was recorded in 1978 at the legendary Paragon Studio, Berlin by Tangerine Dream's Peter Baumann in the same period when other masterworks like Cluster's Großes Wasser and solo recordings by Roedelius and Asmus Tietchens were recorded. Ballet Statique was first released on the German Paragon label, under the original title Con (also issued on legendary French label Egg). This album is a must-have, and not only for fans of Emeralds and Oneohtrix Point Never.

Bruno Pronsato - Why Can't We Be Like Us (2008)

ARTIST`````Bruno Pronsato
ALBUM`````Why Can't We Be Like Us
GENRE`````Minimal Techno, Microhouse
YEAR````````2008

Info & Review
It is very hard for me to find good techno (especially minimal) these last years so this gem comes as a very pleasant surprise. I suppose that playing the mega sexy and hypnotic What They Wish to a packed club would be a DJ's suicide but it is evident that author didn't spend 2 years of his life producing this just to create dance music for fluorescent thongs - he spent 2 years because he enjoyed it. This should be listened on the most expensive, finest and loudest headphones you can steal because there are endless little layers and touches of sound between the booming basslines.

Who is it?
The journey from speed-metal/punk drummer to minimal techno producer isn't exactly a common one, but it's exactly the music path that a certain Steven Ford has forged over the past 20 years. After leaving his Voice Of Reason bandmates back in Texas and making a move out west to Seattle, Ford became increasingly interested in computer-based music and electronic minimalism, steadily learning the tools that have made him such an accomplished producer. His early years in the electronic music scene saw him split his output between two different monikers. While his now defunct Bobby Karate pseudonym explored Ford's more abstract side, his more dance floor-focused work came out under the Bruno Pronsato name, and was promptly picked up by respected labels as Musique Risquee, Philpot and Orac.

Excellent review by RA
Why Can’t We Be Like Us is like the unexpected fulfilment of a promise: unexpected because none of Pronsato’s EPs so far had hinted at anything this good; and a fulfilment in the sense that he has spared nothing with this work—there is nothing missing, lacking, insufficient. Not since We Are Monster has a producer so subtly yet undeniably redefined what’s possible within the rubric of house. Listen to this, and so many things seem possible. All you other wannabes, you’re on notice: the bar has just been raised.

New link with all 9 tracks! - Thanks Mike hahahaha:)

Kyle Bobby Dunn - Rural Route No. 2 EP (2010)

ARTIST`````Kyle Bobby Dunn
ALBUM`````Rural Route No. 2 EP
GENRE`````
Drone, Ambient, Minimal
YEAR````````2010

Biography:
Dunn is a 21st century composer and performer living in Brooklyn, New York.He has premiered his highly specialized works in live settings, including exclusive outdoor and site specific environments, throughout North America for nearly a decade.

Review
An excellent drone/ambient EP from an underground Brooklyn based artist - sounds like something you could hear at a MOCA exhibit. Dissonant Distances is a rather dramatic collage of pulsating claustrophobic pressure with a lot of varied textures which is rare in this genre. Around 5 mins into this lush soundscape you can even hear really faint distorted vocals singing a spooky "pop" tune - a tiny detail that many Stars Of The Lid songs are missing if you ask me. Senium III is a sublime "getaway" into a sun-soaked, floating state where everything sounds safe and warm. The production here bears the most value since there is little or no bass so the song sounds like a forgotten vintage record - almost all drone artists today try to fill in the bass just to make the sound more fat and therefore always end up with a generic sounding record. My fav track from this artist.
The bad thing is that the whole experience is very, very short - just 20 minutes. I can imagine it lasting for at least 40 mins but since it was released on a 3" CD - it's understandable.
