Departing Adelaide Airport (ADL)

Located 6km from the city centre, Adelaide Airport is home to just one terminal for both domestic and international flights that operates across two floors. When you arrive at Adelaide Airport, head to Level 2 of the terminal building to find the check-in desks. When you're flying from Adelaide to Melbourne, it is recommended that you arrive and check-in at least 1–2 hours before your flight to Melbourne.

To get to Adelaide Airport you've got plenty of travel options. The airport is close to the city centre of Adelaide, taking around 7 minutes by car, taxi or carshare service. While there is no train service to Adelaide Airport, you can catch the JetExpress bus between the city and airport for $4-6 depending on your method of payment and time of travel. There is also the JetBus service that offers door-to-door shuttle service between Adelaide Airport and nearby Hotels for $10 per fare. These bus services operate 7 days per week.

Inside the terminal, you'll have access to free and unlimited Wi-Fi. If you want to grab a snack, you'll find a range of restaurants and fast food outlets. The most direct way to get to your destination or accommodation is with a taxi or rideshare from the Arrivals bay. There is a dedicated area for Uber pickups at Melbourne Airport — the first Australian city to offer one. A trip into the CBD will usually cost anywhere from $50–65 depending on demand and traffic. Once you get into the CBD, Melbourne has a great public transport system including buses, trains and trams. The peak times for train travel during the week are between 7.00am and 9.00am and from 4.30pm to 6:30pm. Peak travel times for drivers on Melbourne’s roads are between 6:30am to 9:00am and 3:30pm to 6:30pm on weekdays.
