Of Monsters and Men - My Head Is an Animal (Record, 2011)

Of Monsters and Men - My Head Is an Animal
My modern fame shames an island nation.

Notes
  1. This popular modern group, led by Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, hails from the island nation of Iceland.
  2. Alternative anagram: Meet Ms. Nanna and her moldy simian oafs.
  3. Also: Norse maiden's inane and hammy flotsam.

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories (Columbia, 2013)

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
Ça m'emmerde. So fuck it, sans pardon!

Notes
  1. "Ça m'emmerde": A colloquial French expression meaning "it annoys me" or "it bores me." Or, a bit more literally, "it puts me in shit."
  2. "Sans pardon": Without forgiveness.
  3. A monolingual alternative: France's masked men crap out. So dim!

Justin Bieber - Believe Acoustic (Island, 2013)

Justin Bieber - Believe Acoustic
I reject Biebs. Unsuitable voice!

  1. Alternative anagram: Abject, vicious "Beliebers" unite!

Paul McCartney - Kisses on the Bottom (Hear Music/MPL, 2012)

Paul McCartney - Kisses on the Bottom
Token crap. Best title? Smooch My Anus.

Notes
  1. Alternative anagram: O no! Meek star's shitty concept album.
  2. Another possibility: Ono: "Meek star's shitty concept album."

Sinead O'Connor - How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?
No dice, babe! You're a nobody! Out, heinous woman!

Janis Joplin - The Pearl Sessions (Legacy Recordings, 2012)

Janis Joplin - The Pearl Sessions
J.J.'s inept passion is hell on ears!

Sublime With Rome - Yours Truly (Fueled By Ramen, 2011)

Sublime With Rome - Yours Truly
Troy murmurs, "I will sue ye both."

Notes
  1. "Troy": This is clearly a reference to Troy Dendekker, former wife of fallen Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell. When surviving band members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh recruited Rome Ramirez and began touring as Sublime, Nowell's estate issued this statement: "As Brad's heirs, and with the support of his entire family, we only want to respect his wishes and therefore have not consented to Bud and Eric calling their new project 'Sublime'.... [W]ith great reluctance [we] feel compelled to take the appropriate legal action to protect Brad's legacy." The lawsuit resulted in the band's adoption of the name "Sublime with Rome," which in turn resulted in this fascinating commemorative anagram.

Bad Religion - The Dissent of Man (Epitaph, 2010)

Bad Religion - The Dissent of Man
Ooh, insane! Brett G.'s mind failed.

Notes
  1. "Brett G.": Brett Gurewitz is a founding member of this long-lived L.A. punk outfit.

Counting Crows - Underwater Sunshine (Cooking Vinyl, 2012)

Counting Crows - Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation)
Adam sang covers; tunes ruined! We can't churn out our own shit now. I'm worried!

Notes
  1. "After 18 years on the Geffen label, the band have decamped to the much smaller Cooking Vinyl. Surprisingly, it's a move that hasn't fired their creativity. Instead, Duritz and co have delivered a 61-minute, 15-track covers album that doesn't feature a single original composition."  --Irish Independent
