PPA

 After one year of silence

Check some activity on PPA

Tuesday, June 28

It is time to move on

Yesterday

I saw my E.N.T specialist and he told me

  1. There is no cure
  2. I should accept my loss of the right ear
  3. I should live forever with a permanent tinnitus
  4. I should move on.

SO

PPC will move to this new address HERE with a new name

and then PPC will be closed as soon as

enough PPC followers have joined PPA (aka PPC 2.0)

PPC had 489  followers, i hope PPA will have at least 300

it won't be a private blog

PPC once banned & deleted then back again

Maybe you've have been wondering just like me what happened to PPC during the last hours, but the blog was banned and deleted to some obscure reasons by Blogger or something else due to some unknown complaint, then following a request to examine PPC again, the blog has been allowed again and is back with almost no content (links) at all. So, grab the latest summer compilation because i don't know what's going to happen right now.

And if it ever happens again, PPC won't be re-activated, so i'd like to say goodbye and thank to all. Anyway, even if my health problems are not really getting better, here's a new almost empty blog here

Summer Of '22

 VARIOUS - SUMMER BREEZE (2022)

In the continuing story of summer power pop, a brand new volume of sunny songs with a sparkling sleeve showing my current moods but some great hooks and melodies can help sometimes, And what would be a summer without a new PPC summer compilation: the 14th

The compilation is available in both formats: lossy & lossless with the usual set of artwork

Janglin' Byrds (Byrd Is The Word Continued)

 FIFTH DIMENSION REDIMENSIONED (2022)

Another jangling milestone (even though Gene Clark had just left the band) which has become highly influential (psychedelic, country rock, folk rock and even experimental) over the years. The album is revisited by 11 artists.

The usual set of custom artwork includes full details of the bands involved.

More than 180mn of "Action at full speed"

THE MANY SIDES OF SHAKE SOME ACTION (2022)

Shake Some Action is no less than a contender for the best rock'n'roll song ever written. It's that good. It's the '72 version recorded alongside "Slow Death. In fact, the band wanted the Capitol demo cut on the album but the Dave Edmunds produced one is a masterpiece. Six overdubbed lead guitars descend into a strident riff of epic quality. Beat boom maracas help along the infectious rhythm and the chorus is pure pop excitement. "Shake Some Action's what i need...so let me buts out at full speed". (Bucketfull of Brains 1986)

So, i've compiled all the covers (42 exactly while only 10 are listed on the "secondhandsongs" site) i have been able to find for a mere 180mn memorabilia of one of the greatest rock songs ever written. And as a bonus, both 1972 and 1976 versions of this classic have been included on the collection. I've kept the original albums or singles tags of the covers to know from where they come from.

Maybe all of the covers included here are not fantastic, but it is really interesting to note that most of them are really faithful to the song. No artist has tried to change the epic riff or rhythm.

And now are you ready to hear 3 hours 9 minutes and 34 seconds of "Action at full speed" ?

Info: still deaf of my right ear but always active to bring order in my archives. One of the reasons that brought this new compilation to PPC, maybe not the smartest one i've ever made but certainly one of the funniest to compile.

Top of 2021

  THE UNOFFICIAL 2021 DAVID BASH'S TOP 25 (2022)

Some of you might be surprised to see this new post, but i enjoyed the 2021 releases  during 9 months, and it wasn't so hard to compile this best of 2021 as i already knew most of them. So, I made it slowly listening to a few songs everyday at a really low level, but as you can see it now, it was completed and now it is shared here on PPC.

Fresh collection from the seasonal David Bash list which grew up from to the regular Top 125 to a mighty 175. a top 175. The list also included a top list of EP's, and some compilations and tributes. Once again, the PPC compilation is limited to the first 25 albums of 2021. The 2021 list has been included, checking the ones i have.
