In a devastating attack on members of Sven Goran Eriksson's World Cup squad, he slaughtered the likes of Steve Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole for writing books after England's flop.

In a weekend interview, Barton said: "England did nothing in that World Cup, so why were they bringing books out? 'We got beat in the quarterfinals. I played like s**t. Here's my book'.

"Who wants to read that? I don't. If I'm buying a book, I'll buy a book about someone who's won something, not a book someone's written for the sake of it because their agent's telling them they can cash in on the English public on the back of the World Cup. It's bulls**t."

Well Said Joey Barton. That type of attitude is what is needed by England. I reckon Barton, if called into the England squad, will be a great addition. And you do not get me saying too much positives by about England ever, but Barton is right for the England squad not just in his playing capabilities, but attitude.

So you were amongst the fools who bought books from a bunch of losers talking about the world cup eh?:nono:

when clearly books about the successes you've talked about would clearly have made more sense.

Barton is right to abuse losers who glorify losing:keano:

I bought Gerrards book, and there is 1 single chapter on the world cup. The rest of it is dedicated to his footballing success.

Unlike Rooney who all he could write about is..Well..A CC medal.

We could seriously compete for the treble once more if we signed Barton, Parker and a decent right back, along with the usual suspects. You know I am right. The era is coming where Chelsea's reserves will be playing their FA cup ties and they will regularly rest Robben and the Coles' for league matches. We need to bulk up if we hope to protect our talents. Ronnie for example should not ever, ever be starting against shit teams. Of course he must get playing time, but when Nani has already engineered Torres' and Huntelaar's goals. He can come on with Saha on the hour, up 2-0, and practice for the CL match that Tuesday. Sounds like selling out, BUT I feckING WANT ALL THREE TROPHIES AGAIN MOTHERfeckERS>

I wonder what will happen if he gets called into the England squad. Think there would be any collisions between him and any of those mentioned?

Yea of course, who cares though. They will slap at each other, get dragged apart, maybe have a go at a bar and then it will be donw with and they will play for their countray.

He won't get called up for England. Mclaren is still confused about what to do with Gerrard and Lampard. And we need to find a place somewhere in the squad for Jenas, even though he never gets a game, it's tradition.

He is spot on though, I don't understand why footballers are bringing out books half way through their careers. When they have packed in fair enough but these lot are just cashing in rather than having a proper story to tell.

The sole effect of this tide of self-regarding tedium is to take the edge off any excitement about the start of the season. This is supposed to be the halcyon, anticipatory period, when no ball has been kicked and supporters' dreams - however crazy - can be blissfully sustained without intrusion from reality. This is a time for "Riquelme to Portsmouth" headlines. Instead, barely a day goes by without another extract from an England player's book reminding you of so much that is wrong about the game.

Consider Lampard's reflections after a fortnight spent on Roman Abramovich's yacht. "I suppose people imagine that as a Premiership footballer, my life is quite special," he hazards. "I would agree, but those two weeks opened my eyes to another world." Ah, a millionaire yearning to be a billionaire ... is there anything more charmless?

Barton and Lehmann are right. These money-driven bastards should wait until they're well into their 30s before releasing autobiographies. It shows what retards we have who buy such drivel.

Dear The Kippax Kid,

I was disappointed and discouraged to see your attached post in which you claimed that I was a "stupid yank at times" due to my recap of your opinions on a young footballer named Joey Barton.

Surely informing individuals of the facts about the past is not "stupid", but rather a useful and informative - not to mention courteous - gesture.

History is important, something you have at many times pointed out. I was under the impression that knowing about history was the difference between a 'real' football fan and a 'gloryhunter'.

I look forward to your further thoughts and clarifications - not to mention retractions - on this matter.

Warm Regards,
***** Jason ******, Esq.

Dear The Kippax Kid,

Further to out previous communication regarding Joseph Barton, currently of Manchester City Football Club, I would like to refer you to our communications of 7 July, 2006. In the aforementioned statement you claim to have once been enamoured of said football player, and no longer were in said condition of affection. This, combined with our communication of 14 December would appear to be consistent with my statement that:

jasonrh said:
She loved Joey Barton, then she hated him. Now she loves him again.
The communications of 7 July read as follows:

The Kippax Kid said:
apparently barton is going to boro for £3m.

he has 12 month left on his contract and will not sign a new one.

boro deserve him
jasonrh said:
I thought you loved your Joey?
The Kippax Kid said:
i did once. but he did the dirty on us.we supported him through all his troubles and maybe naively expected a little loyalty back, instead we got a transfer request and a strop.

the sooner he has gone the better.
Further illustration of the point regarding your current state of affection regarding Joseph Barton of Manchester City Football Club can be seen in the below communication, dated 12 December:

The Kippax Kid said:
nice to see our joey beng recognised, he is having a good season
The term "our joey [sic]" is used as a term of affection, consistent with your pattern of expression regarding Joseph Barton both prior to the period on which you believed that "the sooner be has gone the better" and after this period, in which he has again become a source of affectionate feelings.

The substance of my point regarding your one-time affection of Jospeh Barton, followed by a state of contempt, then followed by a return of said affection would appear to be unchallenged in both your communications and in the record. I would appreciate it sincerely if future communications avoided the ad hominem attacks that have characterised your responses to this issue as of this letter. Any evidence you have to refute the above characterisation of your feelings regarding Joseph Barton of Manchester City Football Club would be much appreciated.

I look forward to your kind assistance in resolving this matter.

Warmest Regards in this Holiday Season,
***** Jason ******, Esq.
