The Charlatans - Crashin' In
The Soup Dragons - One Way Street
THE SOUP DRAGONS
One Way Street
1994 Mercury
Final single from The Soup Dragons and one of their best, taken from the album "Hydrophonic". I think that at this period Sean Dickson was only member of the band because other members quits at the middle of recording sessions of "Hydrophonic". Motherfunker is remixed by David Hedger and Lindsay Edwards from Innersphere, techno band who released few singles and one album on Sabrettes label.

This 12'' promo release was withdrawn after an issue with an uncleared sample on track 01, which is taken from Transglobal Underground's ''Temple Head''. Track 02 is actually the standard LP/7" mix of the track, as featured on the album ''Galore''.

Thin Gypsy Thieves - Perfection EP
THIN GYPSY THIEVES
Perfection EP
1992 Yellow Moon Records
Notes :
Early 90's UK indie band that i discovered through one of The Sound Of Lemington Spa volumes, great compilations where you can find obscure indie bands from late 80's - early 90's period. I can't find any information about Thin Gypsy Thieves on the net, it seems that they released only one single "Perfection EP" in 1992 on unknown and probably their own label - Yellow Moon Records.
It will be great if anyone have info about the band or have some demos or unreleased tracks.
"Perfection" is one of my favourite tracks from early 90's period, rest of the tracks on this EP are great, too.
Recommended - must have it !!!

Great old forgotten early 90's baggy band from Manchester, supported Northside and The High on tour, released (i think) only one single ''Fly EP'' in 1991 and recorded live session for Mark Radcliffe show.
Anyone remember this band, i need more info if anyone can help, also i'm looking for better copy of ''Fly EP'', demos or unreleased tracks, copy of Mark Radcliffe session, anything from this band.
''Fly EP'' is amazing single, must check it !

The Caretaker Race - Hangover Square
THE CARETAKER RACE
Hangover Square
1990 The Foundation Label
The Caretaker Race were an indie pop band formed in East London in 1986 when singer/guitarist Andy Strickland (also a part-time music journalist) left The Loft. Strickland recruited Dave Mews (drums), Henry Hersom (bass guitar|bass), and Sally Ward (keyboards). The band’s name came from a Star Trek paperback adventure.
Gaining comparisons with The Go-Betweens, they initially released a brace of singles on their own Roustabout Records label before signing to The Foundation Label in 1989. Hersom left to join Bob, his replacement being ex-Flatmates bassist Jackie Carrera. After two more singles on Foundation, the Stephen Street-produced album Hangover Square was released in 1990. Sally Ward left to take up teaching, to be replaced by Andrew Deevey. The band split up in 1991.
