The Flaming Lips "Clouds Taste Metallic" (1995)

This is one of the greatest recorded albums in existence. If anyone thinks that the Flaming Lips have better albums, they are wrong. If you don't know who the Flaming Lips are, this is the best place to start. If you thought, "gee, I'm really sick of that 'tangerines' song," do not fear, for this is exactly what you need to regain your faith in music as a fuzzy cerebral art form designed to captivate your senses and say fuck everyone who tries to tell me what to do and i'm just going to sleep in today or i'm not going to school today i'm going to roll in the grass for an hour and then color a brain exploding rainbows on my wall. so yeah. listen to this.

V/A "Back From the Grave: Volume One" Compilation (1996)

A gripping mix-tape for the garage fan out there. Twenty-six great, grimy, proto-punk covers and originals from the late-60s. Originally released by Crypt Records in the Eighties and then released as compact discs in the Nineties, this is the first of an eight part compilation sure to rattle dem bones.

The Cheesies "Pull The Brie" (2003)

Joe Jack, of the Dead Milkmen, and Brian Michael recorded and released this album in 2003 as the first product of their side-project band, The Cheesies. Reminiscent of late Dead Milkmen, early Ween or some other obscure popcorn punk melon jams. This album seriously needs more play. Hear it with both ears and groove on, space coyotes.

Rocket From The Crypt "Circa Now!" (1992)

This is their second release and was recorded during the April '92 riots in a studio in Los Angeles. The band was forced to stay in the studio by local authorities during the riots and recorded the majority of this album over that period of four days.

Chunks Compilation (1981/1988)

besides blogs, compilations are my favorite way to find new bands. here's a really awesome SST-reissued New Alliance compilation from way back in the day featuring some mighty artists of their time before they were the household names they are today.

Waylon Thornton & The Heavy Hands "Sixteen Dreams" 2010

Just came across this album today. I've been rockin around to it all afternoon and would definitely recommend for some garage grime punk jams. This is the perfect album to reboot my blog, I reckon. It's short and sweet, to-the-point one minute riff tracks to get the blood boilin'. try um on for size.
