Dr. Feelgood - The Geordie Scene,UK TV (1975)

Apoligises for the wonky quality of this but if you even remotely like/liked Dr Feelgood then you won't mind too much. This was the band of Tynes Tees Television's "The Geordie Scene" back in 1975. If you don't know what a Geordie is then I can tell you its whats know as a "Barcode" (somebody from Newcastle) Anyway what I want is a top quality dvd version of this so if anyone knows where I can get one then please share this vital information. Wilko - what a legend he is with that guitar!

160mb and 25 mins long

R.I.P. Lee Brilleaux

EDIT: And my mate reliably informs me,if you head off to http://www.dimeadozen.org/ Theres a nice Rockpalast DVD torrent from 1980 of the Feelgoods to download (mines in the post!) so head off to that torrent site if you want more from the Dr (do a search for "punk" and you'll see it)

Siouxsie & the Banshees - Live Milan 19-7-82

Siouxsie on Italian TV from 1982. Just the three songs, well 2 and a half really as the beginning of Arabian Nights is chopped off.The band sound pretty out of tune here to me compared to their usual high standards but who cares its Siouxsie so its worth a listen and its only the one link and 10 minutes long at 99mb.

Tracks

1) Arabian Nights
2) Cascade
3) Spellbound

An oldie but goodie for you today. Australia's finest from the Paddington Town Hall (thats Sydney not London!) from April 1977. Five spendid tunes here although due to the vhs quality the sound is a bit distorted at times but this is better than some of the versions flying about on the www. Just the one link at 163mb.

Tracks

1) This Perfect Day
2) Run Down
3) Erotic Neurotic

The Phantom Chords - Dublin Castle, Camden,London 03-3-95

And here the other Phantom Chords one I was on about. Its this one which is a bit dodgy right at the start but okay for the rest of the 52 minutes it lasts. As the title tells you,its from Dublin Castle in 1995......and not bloody Ireland as it says on the links (cheers Stewart for pointing that out) Use HJ Split to join the files http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/ Just 221mb in size.

The Phantom Chords - Powerhaus, London 30-07-94

And staying with the fantastic Mr Dave Vanian, heres The Phantom Chords with a whole show from London circ 1994. 61 Minutes long and only 256 mb. Another Phantom Chords gig on the way in a couple of days.

Tracklist - yes there is one but I'm feeling incrediably lazy and can't be bothered! If anyone wants to bother, feel free to leave it in the comments section and I'll copy and paste it in here.

The Damned - Maritime Hall,San Francisco 28/02/98

This is one I prepared last week in the likely event of a severe hangover. This ones a little bit dark on the picture side but its still well worth having and the sound is very good too. Its also 92 minutes long - that means over an hour and a half of the one the greatest bands to ever the grace the planet. Now I'm far too fucked to write out a tracklist but you know what to expect and its a reasonable 421mb size. Use HJ-Split to join the files together http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/

Its been a great couple of weeks for a Chelsea fan after first securing the Premier League Title last Sunday and then winning the FA Cup on Saturday to claim their first Double. It was a very heavy Saturday night for a Longy! Sunday I was there for the parade along with thousands of others. Its been a long old season but its ended up a great one for us. Congratulations Chelsea FC.

The Boys - 4 Videos

Well I'm off to the FA Cup Final tomorrow (I'm sure I said that this time last year too:) and I'm staying up in London for the Premier League Title parade (hopefully the double of course) on Sunday. Basically my liver is going to take a bit of a hammering and I won't be around til Monday. In the meantime I'll leave you with these little gems from pop-punksters The Boys.

The first video is their one and only appearance on the OGWT doing Terminal Love and See You Later, the second the promo video for Weekend, the third the promo for the excellent Brickfield Nights and finally from the same set the short but sweet Sway.

Have a great weekend folks!

Joe Strummer - Lets Rock Again! (2004)

In Lets Rock Again! Joe Strummer, the undisputed pioneer of Punk is captured in a revealing and intimate portrait. The documentary hits the road with Strummer's then new band The Mescareros as they tour their second album Global-A-Go-Go. Along the way Joe dispels his Punk persona to reveal a die-hard performer whose main objective is simple - get his music heard and break even. This memoir was shot by filmaker and longtime Strummer friend Dick Rude in the 18 months leading up to Strummer's death in 2002. Not just another rockumentary,Lets Rock Again! is a story about never giving up.

67 minutes long and the time will fly by if you enjoy Joe's music - from the The Mescareros own stuff to old Clash classics. My own personal favourite moments of this DVD are simply listening to Joe's many words of wisdom.

The DVD has many extras (not included here) so if you enjoy this then go out and buy the DVD. You won't regret it!

The Plasmatics - Pier 62 (1979)

A great little 15 minute video of the legendary Plasmatics doing their thang back in '79 on New York's Pier 62. You've probably seen this on You Tube already, but just in case, here it is anyway.

Warning: In the unlikely event that you own a large expensive car, dangerous explosives and have a pier in your back garden that leads into a very large river,do NOT try the stunt at the end of this clip!

I haven't brought this yet but I'm going to soon I think so if you want to see more of The Plasmatics nip over to http://www.plasmatics.com/ and buy the DVD with over 3 hours of what looks like great footage. Anyone out there confirm this is well worth the dosh? And no,I won't be sharing it when I get it before anyone asks!

*Edit* I've just brought it on ebay off some American geezer. I'll probably get it next year if at all but at least it was only 12 quid.

Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Rockpalast 15/06/78

Another great gig from the Rockpalast series. Non DVD quality of course but good enough for the Elvis lovers amoungst us and featuring a mighty fine set of Costello songs, many from the outstanding This Year's Model album. You may spot the obvious deliberate mistake in the tracklist but trust me,theres a very good reason for it!

Oh and totally unrelated - for those who wanted the Big Audio Dynamite video re-upped its done now (against all punk friction policies!) and be found over here

Sex Pistols - Press Conference,Brisbane,Australia (1996)

Something a bit different again for you. This was the one and only then newly reformed Sex Pistols with a press conference Down Under as part of their Filthy Lucre Tour. Unsurprisingly,it was never broadcasted to the people of Oz! Mr Lydon is his usual sarcastic funny self and the star of the show and when I watched this again yesterday I laughed out loud a few times I must admit. Steve Jones has always made me laugh whatever his done. My favourite segment goes something like this.....

Female Reporter - "How much fun are you actually having this time around? Are you having plenty" Well Matlock you look like you've got out of a gutter to come to this press conference"

Glen Matlock - "Thanks a fucking lot"

John Lydon - "You ain't so handsome yourself dear. Jesus You look like you could do with a shave"

Female Reporter - "Well I'm on the radio,I'm not on the stage"

Steve Jones - "You look like Sammy Hagar"

Quality stuff! The Rod Stewart part is great as well.

Theres a couple of short live clips at the end but only clips which I forgot to cut off. The press conference lasts around 23 minutes and the bits I forgot to chop off last another 3 or 4 mins but if you haven't seen this and your'e a Pistols fan, then grab it.

Footballs Fight Club (2002)

With the recent troubles in Sheffield and Luton, now seems a good a time as any for this lazy post. Lazy because its something I already posted on a documentary forum around Christmas time so it saves me any work today.

An interesting two part Channel Four documentary about football hooliganism. The first part explores the 70's and 80's and speaks to some of the leaders of the hooligan firms. How the old cheap football special trains increased away supporters at games, football fashion and also the hooligans own "code of conduct" Part 2 explores how the seeds were sown a year before the tragic Heysal Stadium disaster, shows the knock-on effect from Heysal and the major Government crackdown on the thugs. Alot of top firms leaders were jailed (fitted up by false police evidence in many cases which was later proven in court) With the thugs being squeezed out here, alot of them started causing chaos abroad with England with, for the first time,an England game over in Ireland actually getting abandoned. Contains scenes of violence and a great soundtrack. Ripped from glorious VHS with all the Channel 4 adverts painstakingly removed (my me...not someone else who has reposted this as their own work elsewhere on their "own" documentary blog and ignored my protests!)

It may not be punk rock but its a bloody good watch if you fancy a social documentary for a change. Contains a few old faces from the ugly side of the game including Chelsea's own ex Combat 84 lead vocalist Chrissy Henderson who I must admit does make me laugh with one of his comments and top author Martin King as well as hoodlums from other clubs such as Man Utd,West Ham and Liverpool to name but 3. The fact is,hooliganism was a way of life back then and going to and returning from an away game for the normal fan like myself was a mission back then. So this is a trip back in time.

One the best ever Punk bands in my humble opinion. Here they are back in '78 on the OGWT and just the same as the Chelsea post, not in DVD quality and with 3 songs. At only 96mb and one single download link with nothing complicated to do. What are you waiting for?

The Undertones - 8 Videos

A selection of videos here from Derry's finest. All single files so just download the ones you want. They were just lurking about on the HD and as the single video files seem to be quite popular when it comes to downloads, you'd just as well have them. Check out the fantastic 1977 Chelsea FC promotion shirt on the guitarist in the There Goes Norman video. Quality! Lets hope the team are on Sunday too or I'm going to be even more of a miserable git than I already am.
