V.A. - Gabber Gabber Hey: A Loud And Fast Accelerated Tribute To The Ramones (2004)

Thanks to all the people who left a comment on the last post especially me who left the most! No seriously I appreciate it. You see for the last week I have been working round the clock to re-upload every 7'',12'' EP and CD single plus a few albums on this site (and no I'm not re-upping videos before anyone asks again) And if theres any albums not re-upped that you want then give me a shout and I'll do them because deep down I am kind. So the odd comment (ie a "thank you" or a "this is shit") doesn't hurt does it.
Anyway this Ramones tribute album is being posted especially for all the people who come on this site and DON'T comment. I mean this sincerely from the bottom of my heart. This one is for you all. Enjoy it. You deserve it!

Brand New Rage : A Tribute To UK Subs

Another tribute album, this time to one of the worlds greatest longest lasting Punk bands UK Subs. I can't wait to see the Subs again on the 27th of November.

Another 128 bitrate album but if you like it why not buy it for a bargain £4.50 here http://uksubs.bigcartel.com/product/uk-subs-tribute-cd-brand-new-rage

Meanwhile I'm off to see The Specials tonight and its another one I can't wait for.

Edit#

Well what can I say about The Specials gig. If you read this blog you'll know I'm not one to moan (cough) but I was not happy about paying £32.50 just to see the band. I only paid it because I like them and wanted to see them but I thought deep down it was a rip-off. But last night at a sold out Plymouth Pavillions they skanked the house down from the moment they took to the stage with "Do The Dog" By the time "Gangsters" came on (third song) the place was a jumpin' and 3,000 heads were a boppin'. Many many Skinheads unsurprisingly turned up and lots of faces I haven't seen for years were present. Not a spot of trouble...well the only trouble was trying to get a pint but luckily I had plenty beforehand in the pub. Well beyond my expectations and one of the best gigs EVER. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Not even I can fault it!

Next Wednesday at the same venue its Motorhead,The Damned and Girlschool. If its half as good as the Specials then I will love it.

A Tribute To The Anti-Nowhere League - So What?

I wanted to stick something from The Anti-Nowhere League up and I did attempt a video last week but due to the problems I've been having it was a no no. By some miracle,I've managed to upload this 53mb file so you can have this tribute album instead if you want it. Its mainly sung in English but there are a few German numbers on there too but I like it anyway. For some reason I do like the odd tribute album and this is one of many I have downloaded off good old Soulseek over the years.

The ANL gig last week was excellent but it was a small turnout and very few were down the front (Animal is kind of scary looking I suppose) but it didn't stop them doing an excellent set. They did about 8/9 songs on the encore too so fair play to them. Well worth the 8 quid for sure.
Animal (real name Nick) was very philosophical about the poor turn out when we apoligising about it backstage (myself and Gareth have a knack of piling back there now) Standing up close to him,you really wouldn't think he was 54 now and looks years younger. I did ask him if he was using Oil Of Ulay as well! I blame that on Gaynors Cider.

128 Bitrate and 53mb

V/A - Ramones Forever: An International Tribute CD (2002)

This is the only Ramones tribute CD I own. I downloaded the other 60 odd that I have collected from Soulseek. This one is a bit different from most as the vast majority of these bands are not trying to sound like the Ramones (The Huntingtons being the noticable exception and of course The Marky Ramones group) My favourite here is the Dancehall/Ragga version of Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue (track 6) which for some reason tickles the crap out of me. You certainly won't like all the tracks on this I'm sure but like I said,at least its different. Click on the 2nd cover for the tracklist.

V.A. - Back On The Road Double LP (1988)

Something a bit different today. A classic double 32 track vinyl LP released back in 1988 featuring a whole lot of classic and not so well heard of oldies. Some would call this "Prog Rock" I suppose (don't all moan at once)

Listening to this one after so many years was suprisingly a very enjoyable experience. Ripping it wasn't not so enjoyable as it took bloody ages but at least it didn't jump. Maybe in just an old hippie at heart - I dunno. I especially enjoyed Fairport Convention, Roy Harper,Focus,Nick Drake and Jefferson Airplane. I can honestly say theres only 2 songs on here I didn't like. Not bad out of 32. Anyway, enough waffling..........

Side 1

01) Free - All Right Now
02) Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watch Tower
03) Jethro Tull - Living In The Past
04) Focus - Hocus Pocus
05) The Byrds - Eight Miles High
06) Nirvana - Rainbow Chaser
07) Nice - America
08) Nick Drake - Northern Sky

Side 2

05) Tomorrow - My White Bicycle
06) Spooky Tooth - Love Really Changed Me
07) Gun - Race With The Devil
08) Soft Machine - 10.30 Returns To The Bedroom

Side 3

01) Cream - Strange Brew
02) Hawkwind - Silver Machine
03) Fairport Convention - Meet On The Ledge

V.A. From Hell To Obscurity (1989)

And now for something completely different. Not my album as it happens but my mate who wanted this ripped so I thought you lot might like it (or not)

There you go Gareth, your album is now famous! Gareth wanted this ripped so he could have Phillip Chevron (Radiators From Space,Pogues) on his ipod. Well I had to listen to all of it you bastard! To be fair some of it is not too bad but it depends on your tastes (and mood) A bit of blues, new wave and good ole rock'n'roll and a fair dose of depressing misery named Loudon Wainwright III. Eleven of the 16 songs are actually B sides while the rest are.....you've guessed it, A sides. If that doesn't sound particulary interesting, its because its not!
Tracks

01) The Subterraneans - My Flamingo
02) Department S - Is Vic There?
03) The Nice Men - Senile Youth
04) T-Bone Burnett - Art Movies
05) Yachts - A Fool Like You
06) John Hiatt (with Loudon Wainwright III) My Girl
07) That Petrol Emotion - Mine
08) Elvis Costello - Psycho
09) The Robert Cray Band - Phone Booth (Live)
10) Philip Chevron - The Captains And The Kings
11) Loudon Wainwright III - Colours
12) The Coward Brothers - They'll Never Take Her Love From Me
13) Dr.Feelgood - Can't Find The Lady
14) Suicide - I Remember
15) Don Dixon - Andy
16) Loudon Wainwright III (with John Hiatt) - At The End Of A Long Lonely Day

2) Shock Treatment - Belfast Telegraph
3) The Vipers - Take Me
4) Big Self - Snakes And Ladders
