I don’t think that’s true. I think that came out later and was fanned by W himself. In the immediate aftermath of 9/11 most people were sad not angry, and the international support from even rival countries was at an all time high. It was the dawn of a new world order of compassion and global cooperation as all nations agreed they would root out terrorism together.
Then W said “you’re either with us or with the terrorists” and it all evaporated immediately
This is accurate. The US had international support due to 9/11 and Bush spent that capital in the worst way possible.

If memory serves, 50 cent was hot when he came out because he had actually been shot (a lot) and had real lived experience with what he was rapping about. Presumably unlike the rest of the rappers who were cosplaying as gangstas.
I thought that if there was any musical innovation there it was to equalize the rapping into almost a beat in and of itself and let the production go wild. E.g. in da club and wanksta
I think this would have been amazing. The all black rubber was a brilliant leveling up of the source material. And he did the dark and brooding so well I would have loved to see him go against type and do sparkly and bright. It would have been really creative
