What is P2?
P2 is a flexible platform for teams to share, discuss, and collaborate openly and without interruption. It helps closed communication become more transparent and rich vs. restricted documents or email. P2 is built with WordPress & Gutenberg.
How does Automattic use P2?
Automattic is an office-less, globally distributed company with over 1200 employees in over 80 countries. P2 is our lifeblood and we have been using it to collaborate on projects without constant distractions for a decade.
Who owns the P2 data?
You own your own information. Automattic doesn’t own your data and we never share your information with third parties.
Can I self-host my P2?
It’s not possible to self host P2 right now. However, we are strong advocates of open source and owning your own data here at Automattic, so this is on our roadmap.
Does P2 have an API?
Yes. P2 is built on top of WordPress.com which has an API. For more information refer to our developer reference docs.
Can I use P2 with a custom domain?
It is not currently possible to use P2 with a custom domain that you control. You can, however, change the subdomain to anything you want, as long as it’s available.
What other products does P2 work with?
We are adding integrations all the time to P2 (20 and counting) including tools like Figma, GitHub and Google Docs.
What about ads?
No, P2 is a completely ad-free experience regardless of your paid tier (including free P2s).
Can I get notifications?
Yes! We have lots of notifications systems built into P2. You can receive emails, get notifications in the web app, or via the mobile application (through WordPress).
Can I customize my P2?
Yes! You can change the default colors, add your custom logo and what you want to see in your space’s sidebar. For more information see the customization section of our help center.
