If you don’t plan to track the car, you’ll be fine, that’s the simplest way I can say it, there’s more caveats even if you do plan to track but just simple cut and dry easy answer

Basically the machines are applying too much rtv, it breaks, ends up in the oil pickup pan which in turn clogs one part of the pick up tube (the tube is 5 sided). There has been a few different color rtv so it’s not all from the same spot.

BUT, aside from a few cases (I haven’t kept up with all of them but in this comment section there was a mention of one) it is not the main reason for engines failing. The main issue people are starting to notice now, is due to extended right hand turns at high rpms causing oil starvation (what people were originally contributing entirely to rtv).

So while rtv may or may not play some role in that starvation, everyone’s testing results seem to showcase that it is indeed due to extended right turns at high rpms.

As a consumer, if you’re not tracking the car you’re probably never going to end up in this situation and can keep enjoying your car as is.

If you are tracking your car, well uh take precautions I guess :)
