I moved into this house 7 months ago. Several days a week, I work from home. Regularly, we have random people pull into our driveway. Sure, sometimes it’s to turn around. However, on many occasions, they just sit there in my driveway. At one point, it was for over 30 minutes. It’s a new car most times. Recently, a local telecommunications work truck pulled into the driveway and proceeded to pull all the way up to the house (we have a long driveway, nothing huge but enough space to NOT pull close to the house). The guy stayed in his truck for 10+ minutes and then left. The following morning (today) the truck slowly passed my house, pausing momentarily, and then drove away as I ran inside (was outside with the dogs). We live in a rural area, we aren’t the first house on the road, nothing is particularly welcoming about our house… I don’t get it. The town population is 5K and I think half of them have been in our driveway. Wtf.
My new neighbor informed me yesterday that when her son gets out of jail he will be moving home. He has been convicted of sex under 13 and something with a 15 yr old. Of course his mother blamed the girls. I have a 14 yr old stepdaughter as well as being sexually assaulted as a child myself. The thought of having this chomo next door makes me want to sell my home. I can’t live next to a sex offender. Is there anything else I can do?
I painted mine a bright white (valspar perfect white) because I feel like it helps with light and it looks fresh. Before they were a dingy beige but probably looked so dingy because they hadn’t been painted since the house was built in the 60s.
Do you match the walls of the room the closet is in, use a neutral color, or do something else entirely? Just curious what others do.
