I love Valheim. I get very busy in my personal life, but it’s been a source of comfort to play it since before the pandemic and throughout those years.
I love visiting other servers like some kind of wandering knight. But I struggle with imposed technology limits.
When people say, “our server is at Iron Age” or “our server is at Bronze Age” I just shake my head.
I’ve spent years playing this game now and I struggle at the idea of going backwards. It’s not that I don’t enjoy a fresh start or doing it all again. But I fought so hard to unlock all the materials I have and all the crafting recipes I use, that the idea of going back to raspberries and deer meat and putting on troll armor just sounds depressing.
Does anyone else feel that way? I always like to respect the rules of any server I visit, but I hate having to limit myself after I fought so hard to grow that stamina tree.
I love when someone says, “visit our server, come as you are.” Those are my favorite visits. I come loaded for bear and build a beautiful siege tower or a longhouse. I never boss stomp without permission. I just like to enjoy the views and build a quiet place to admire them. But I like the aesthetics of some of the higher level tech.
Is it just me? Like I said, starting a new character from scratch is fun, but I spent so much time playing with my first character that I just groan when a server wants me to arbitrarily use only a certain level of tech.
If you want a high-level, peaceful and respectful visitor who just likes to travel and build, then I’m your guy.
you're welcome to join the world as well.
We're in the iron age.
Here's a pic of my base so far.
Just was wondering if there was anyone who would be interested.
