I suspect we'll beat these expectations by at least one slot by sason's end!
I'm looking for a good NBA podcast or show to watch/listen.
Sidenote: most of the podcasts I have listened to were very shallow, filled with hot takes to provoke or only focused on the star players. I'm actually looking for a show that does a deeper analysis, like young players to watch (rookie or prospects from college/europe), coaches and their decisions or tactics, etc..
Thank you for the suggestions.

Obviously, a season like 2014/15 doesn’t count, where he was out injured almost the whole season.
Durant joined the SuperSonics in 2007, averaging 20 PPG in his rookie season. He then played for OKC for many years together with Westbrook and Harden. Then he went to Golden State, playing with Curry and Thompson. After that, he joined the Brooklyn Nets and played with James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Lately, he joined the Suns with Devin Booker.
So I would say there are not many players in NBA history who had more star teammates over the years than KD. Can you still say that KD always was the #1 guy at the end of the day? Especially when it goes to the clutch time?
Throughout most of its history, the NBA has annually granted Most Valuable Player Awards to recognize its best competitors in the regular season and in the NBA Finals. These are the most substantial honors that an NBA player can receive. And since 2022, two Conference Finals MVPs have also been awarded each year to further celebrate achievement in the postseason.
Unfortunately, though, there has never been an award for the most valuable player in the entirety of the playoffs. For the vast majority of the league’s history, the only individual postseason award was entirely based on one series and only available to one team. As a consequence, some of the most incredible performances in the history of the sport have gone without any official recognition. So this project intends to retroactively celebrate some of those performances by asking this subreddit to award Playoff MVPs for every playoff tournament from 1980 to the present.
Previous Winners
1980: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
1981: Larry Bird
1982: Magic Johnson
1983: Moses Malone
1984: Larry Bird
1985: Larry Bird
1986: Larry Bird
1987: Larry Bird
1988: Magic Johnson
How to Vote
I will provide three different comments beneath each post representing three Playoff MVP candidates for the season being discussed. Additionally, if anybody feels that another player is deserving of candidacy, they can add a comment for that player to nominate them for the award using the process described in the following section. You can reply to these comments with arguments for or against any of the players to convince other voters of your position. Whichever player has the most upvotes after five days will be declared the Playoff MVP of that year, which will be announced the following week.
Nominating Players
If you would like to nominate a player, simply post a comment for that athlete using the same format as the comments for the other candidates. This should include the player’s name and a link to the Basketball Reference page of the team that they played for that season. Here is an example that you can copy:
PMVP Candidate: J.R. Smith - Stats and Record
Voting Criteria
Since the NBA doesn’t have any official criteria for how the MVP is decided, I’m not going to provide any specific criteria for this award either. However, I will suggest that voters judge the playoff MVP by the same standards that they use to judge the regular season MVP, such as individual statistics, team success, and overall impact on the game.
1989 NBA Playoffs
You can reference the following pages about this postseason as you consider which candidate to vote for or nominate.

In a time where free agency is sought after and trade requests are rampant, let's look at teams who have pretty much kept their core intact.
I will rank them based on number of tenured players. I will count a player as tenured with the team if he'll be playing his 5th season with the team in the upcoming 2023-24 season. That's the number in the parentheses -- their nth year with the team this season.
If a player hasn't played in a season due to injury or whatever reason, the year will count as a year of service for the team as long as they are in the roster. Embiid was drafted in 2014 but missed playing a game in his first two seasons, but those two seasons would count since he's been rehabbing and working out with team personnel and in team facility. Jokic was also drafted in 2014 but didn't join the team until 2015. Him missing the 2014-15 season would not count in his years of service since during that season he was playing in Europe and technically not part of the Nuggets roster yet.
Here is the complete list:
60% of the teams in the league have only kept two players or less within the last 5 years. I think it's a testament to player movement in this era.
The Clippers have more tenured players in their team. But in terms of keeping a core intact for a long period of time, that's the Warriors, with the Bucks coming in second.
The Celtics have broken up their core in this offseason. If Mrs. Smart named Marcus as Jayden, he may have still been with the team.

Looking at the projections of the members that have signed up and made predictions so far, there are some interesting places of disagreement. Notably, r/nba thinks the big dawgs of the East will rack up a few more wins than their O/U would suggest.

Alright Im pretty late with it this yr but nonetheless I do this every year(here is last yr btw) figured might as well keep the tradition alive. So here we are this years sheet. Below Im just posting the regular disclaimer/intro for what this is and the guidelines(with rules that are also in the sheet)
-
You are building for a 4 year window. The next 4 years and nothing else.
-
Salary Cap is $100. Work around that.
-
12 man roster. If by the end this is taking too long and you just want to say "Any 3 $1 players" or "Any 2 $2 players and 1 $1 player" instead of spending time finding a specific one for the end of the bench that's fine. Just factor that into your budget calculation.
-
Unfortunately this is not a 2K franchise, no settings to turn injuries and real life factors off. Hence factor in durability/injury track record/off court dynamics and theatrics accordingly(in other words yes Kyrie Irving's Kyrie Irvingness is baked into his price).
-
There are >400 players in this, if I forgot someone, can message me for a price. Sorry but no rookies from this upcoming class or international players
-
For prices it was basically me weighing both my own thoughts on players and the general consensus on them. There are absolutely players in there I wouldnt touch with a 10 foot pole I think their price is too high but I tried to factor general opinion on players.
Anyway, again [heres the link for this yrs sheet] (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rf62cOWlul34y6Joc4YReEnvr2NgvkbFoCE9iQ-DlqM/edit#gid=0) enjoy

Andrew Bynum was the last 17 year old in the NBA. And by 17 year old, I mean drafted the same year you would turn 18 at the end of the year. For example, if a player is born in 2007, he would be drafted in 2025 instead of 2026. Do you think we will see that anytime soon again? There have been a lot of high school draftees since the one and done rule yet none are 18 (by year's end).
