Peter Rabbit, 1927

Walter Harrison Cady's career as an illustrator began at the end of the nineteenth century, when he produced some comic work for various magazines. His comic career really took off on 15 August 1920, when he launched his best-known strip, 'Peter Rabbit'. The first paper to publish this full-page comic was the Tribune. Cady drew 'Peter Rabbit' until his retirement in 1948. He was succeeded by Vincent Fago, who continued the comic until 1956.
