Ok, this may sound like more complaining and honestly, what I am about to say is nothing new but I still feel like it needs to be said.
As a disclaimer, from jump street I have been a JF1 supporter and honestly still am. His struggles are not all his fault. It is primarily the coaching or lack thereof that is the biggest issue.
Let's take a walk down the painful memory lane. Nagy refused to scheme around his skill set and sent him out to be a lamb to slaughter, multiple times (looking at the Cleveland game as a perfect example).
Getsey has shown time and time again that he is clueless to his personnel and Eberflus is in way over his head. When asked about why we didn't target DJ, more after his monster game, his response? "We need to look into it." How is that an acceptable response for a head coach? We have an amazing receiver and are not using him? That in and of itself should be a fireable offense.
In my mind, the jury is still out on Poles. Sure he made some dumb decisions (Claypool, Velus, not using the money last year to sure up the trenches) but he has done some good too (DJ, multiple draft picks for next year, extending Kmet)
I get the sentiment that we need to move on, get Caleb or whomever as the next big thing in football but realistically, if we keep getting these window licking coaches who can't game plan to save their life, we could realistically have the messiah of QB's at our disposal and it would be for naught.
Where do we go from here? Simple. Fire the lot of them and do it now. Set the statement that sub par performance will not be tolerated, limp through the rest of the season and actually build a team that can compete in the National Football League next year.
Hopefully Kevin Warren is going to be the difference maker and shows that he has the stones to right this ship, if not, mediocrity will be a pipe dream.

Part 6 of a series I have been doing since the beginning of the season:
There's a lot to overreact to in any given week (Are the Eagles overrated? Are the Chiefs actually just mid? Are the Lions the best team in the NFL? ext...)
Instead, let's spend some time talking about the opposite - storylines that may have flown under the radar or otherwise just aren't getting the attention they deserve. Some things I think people are underreacting to or otherwise deserve more discussion:
-
The one week of competent offensive play we saw from the Falcons last week appeared to have been an anomaly. It was back to the same old song and dance in Atlanta. The Falcons have a roster that could compete for the division this year, but continue to play with one hand tied behind their backs, and at a certain point they may be better off giving Heineke a shot if Ridder continues to struggle.
-
The Bengals have an excellent pass rush - yesterday they sacked Geno Smith 4 times when Seattle had only given up 7 sacks in the first 4 games combined. The Bengals have now accumulated 16 sacks in their last 4 games and the pass rush has been a major factor in their victories both yesterday and over the Rams.

Of the teams that we would have been shocked to see at .500 headed into the season (or after the Rodgers injury in the case of the Jets), the one that's not being talked about is the Los Angeles Rams. This was a team expected to win 6 games this season, and instead they are competing hard despite having zero depth and very little talent outside of a few superstars and Puca. With games coming up against the Steelers, Cowboys, and Packers, they could actually have a winning record going into their bye week next month.

There is something wrong in Buffalo. They had their big statement game a couple weeks ago against the Dolphins, and since then they seem to have overlooked their next two opponents. Their strategy of flying to London on Friday evening for a Sunday morning game was such a horrifically bad choice against a well-rested Jags team that had been in London for over a week. They looked lifeless and exhausted, as anybody who made a transatlantic flight 36 hours ago might be expected to look. And then ley followed it up with an ugly disappointing showing on SNF where they were a yard away from losing. You have to question the team's decision making and their lack of preparedness for "lesser" opponents.

I feel like across last week, and especially this week, there have been numerous times where the broadcast booths have called in their experts.
This has always been a thing, but I feel like they are no longer giving answers on the fence. It used to be "this could go either way, but I see what they could have maybe seen" blah blah blah.
Now they are saying "Yeah, that's definitely not a penalty." It's refreshing, but sad. I wonder what the outcome will be going forward.
