The Bachelor
There was a post today taking issue with strippers at bachelor parties bur they didn't take it far enough. It's not just worthy of judgement, it's worthy of break-up. It's cheating. Going to a stripclub is cheating, getting a stripper for your party is cheating.
The whole point of marriage is dedicating yourself to your partner and only your partner, starting it with some kind of pathetic last night as an unmarried person, looking at other bodies, that's appalling. That's disgusting. You're meant to be celebrating the fact you're finally making the bond with your loved one official, not disrespecting them and looking at other people.
The fact that many consider this normal is bizarre to me. People are absolutely revolting.

I love Charity and going into this season I was rooting for her to be bachelorette.
But watching Ariels hometown... not only has she made multiple comments about being Jewish but seeing her father so obviously being an immigrant with English as a second language I think they missed a huge opportunity to showcase diversity in so many ways.
The bachelor has made it clear their idea of diversity is black and white... literally. I want to see other religions showcased. I want to see every ethnicity. And I really love to see an immigrant family featured and wish they would've picked Ariel to check all the boxes.

He’s a doctor in his mid 30’s who loves to travel (pre-panny), has a sense of humor, dresses well, and from minor sleuthing seems to not be overly invested in his Instagram presence (huge). Not that caring about social media is bad, but some of the men in this franchise are a lot when it comes to their online habits and it’s nice to see someone who is relatively normal about their output.
The addition of him being a “first” and TPTB getting the diversity points they want is just...... whatever. He is arguably a really great Bachelor candidate.

Genuinely, I’m so tired of ABC’s decisions for male leads. I’m done. I want their numbers to plummet so badly for this upcoming season. I don’t want them to be able to ignore the fact that no one wanted this. They had an extra hour of the show tonight and decidedly didn’t mention anything about Erich’s acts of racism — yet spent THIS much time on the new Bachelor. I just want to scream. The show is supposed to light and fun but it’s just shit at this point, and they’re not doing anything to overhaul how unsatisfying and disingenuous their entire franchise has become.
SPOILER: No one wants _____. He is a boring, basic white man who offers nothing to us as an audience. I’ve never been this passionate or outspoken about their choice for a lead before, but I just needed to say this. I’m so disappointed.

Think of the drama! The bachelor would constantly have to think, who is here to compete for the money, and who is here for love? The contestants would be claiming that so-and-so is only here for the money and doesn’t care about the bachelor/ette. They wouldn’t even have to invent drama or cast props! The drama would write itself!
